Here we go, here we go. Victory Formation podcast, season one, This is how we do, Eddie. Tell them how you feel. Tell them how you feel. Don't Oh, no. I was just giving the two-five because, man, 25 episodes. Proud of our listeners. You didn't quit on me. I didn't scare you off. I thought you would have quit on me after episode four or five. Like, this guy don't know any time about I thought we only had like six or seven episodes worth of info in us. It looks We're keeping it strong. We're just getting better. We're getting better Of course, you know, I Was pretty good. So so this is my last work week. I'm on vacation after this so I was so ready for this week to be over. I work a shift like I work Monday to Thursday 10-hour day So today is my Friday since tomorrow is actually Friday. Those who don't know recording us on Thursday, but today's my Friday. So I I'm so ready to be off. Cause I mean, you don't like work. It, it provides me an opportunity to buy food and stuff and electricity, but sometimes you just need a break. You got to go somewhere, You have six days. Take them. Don't stack them up as much as you think that company cares about you. If you would have dropped dead right now in a week that has somebody taking your spot. So spend time just like Eddie says at the end of the show. Hug your kids, spend time with your family, those ones that matter. I always said, nobody's on their deathbed saying, if they say they worked at IBM, nobody's on their deathbed saying, man, if I had only worked more hours at IBM, my life would have been complete. Nobody says My, uh, my company last year, we went to unlimited FTO like the, So like, Oh yeah, yeah. We have unlimited. And you know, what's crazy is the, the company went to this because employees take less vacations when it's available. Yeah. Study showed that I looked that up. I was like, this is Myself. I'm like, Hey, you know, my, my, my director, he's very good at, you know, not giving us any, any trouble at all. If you ever asked for a day off, if you need anything, you know, it's, That's it. They're really good at making sure that we're spending time with our families and stuff, but it's like now, I mean, I could ask for whatever days I want off and I'm still like. Should I take this day off or should I not? Like, I still feel not guilty, but it's, I, it's like these, it's an ownership of it now. So it's like, I'm feeling a little bit more responsible for it. I'm not taking time away from them. This is Cause trust me, you can be a great employee worker and still take your days off. Trust me. Uh, some companies will make you feel bad for taking days off. Don't work there and work somewhere where like, cause my bosses, they'll tell you, Oh, take some time off. And whenever you're taking time off, they're like, Oh, great. Go enjoy yourself. Don't think about this place. And when we're there to work, we work. So trust me, it's going to be a fun two weeks and taking two Cool. Um, that's, uh, at the, at the end of that, your kids and your wife are going I'm telling you, yeah, but but but they're they're out of school. My wife's a teacher, so she's out for the summer. And I work from home sometimes You know how hard it is in the morning when it's still dark, it's real quiet. Everybody's just snuggling up. It's all nice and warm. And you're you're like getting yourself ready to go to work. And you're like, you just want to make some noise. Wake everybody up. Be like. Wake up, fools. We got stuff to Yeah. So we'll see how it goes. Everybody's being lazy now because they've been out of school for about a couple of weeks now. So. So what you got? Any any any interesting news There's been a couple of things this week. I mean, obviously, unless you're you live under a rock, you heard that Trevor Lawrence just Signed his extension. So now man, he just signed a money 200 million guaranteed 275 for Yep 200 million guaranteed which means I Think all you need to do is take that contract and add just a few numbers If they if that could sign this contract so many people would have been screaming bloody murder He's stealing from the Joneses. He didn't earn his contract, but nobody's saying that about Trevor Lawrence now, don't get me wrong I'm not a Trevor Lawrence hater. I think he's a good quarterback. I don't think he's great. I think he's good But for him to be a number one overall, I don't think he's lived up to that billing yet he still has time but I don't think he, and to me, he hasn't accomplished as much as Dak has You know, they sure didn't beat him. And I think really what it is, is it just continues to keep cementing that it is the market that's driving how much these guys are paying. That we there's not a goal of i'm gonna pay my quarterback 58 million dollars this year. It's just Oh, Oh, he's the highest paid then let me add a million to that and that's exactly how it's going to continue Keep going up until somebody says and that's it Yeah But see and but the thing that gets me is these people they they just see these mind-boggling numbers like a normal person like me Can't fathom Oh yeah, next year I'm going to make $55 million. And then the year after that, and then the year after that. Like, I'm not going to make $55 million in my entire life. These guys are going to make, you know, of course I'm not dumb. There's taxes and agent fees, but I'm just using that number as a number. So he doesn't take that home, but 50, like, let's say it's 30 million he's bringing home. That's still more than I'm going to make my entire life. And people don't fathom these numbers. So they think that person doesn't deserve it. But when you look at it, compared to how much he brings in, he does deserve that money. Same thing as deck. Same thing as all the quarterbacks. They, it's the hardest position to place. It's not easy. If it was, there would be a long line and it would drive the price down. Kind of like running backs. It's easier to find a running back. That's why they only get paid, you know, whatever they get paid. It's easy to find a, you know, a third wide receiver. So that's why they only get paid when they pay. It's not easy to find a starting Caliber quarterback that can lead you to the Super Bowl even though there are 30 what 32 teams is the legit only 15 quarterbacks maybe that can take a team to the Super Bowl the rest of them are just treading water until the next what they think Joe Burrow is gonna be in their draft or Trevor Lawrence gonna be in the draft order I'd look up into a Tom Brady Brock Purdy someone who they can who can take them to the Super Bowl So this all the hate that gets ridiculous this whole fucking I I Just had to reply to somebody that's on BR that just replied to something from mine And it's something that we're going back and forth on and it's it's ridiculous because I posted today a picture of these guys moving these goalposts And I was like, you know, every, everybody that either hates the front office or hates the Cowboys or hates Dak or whatever they're doing, no matter what it is, they're going to move the goalposts because you can come to, you can, you can have a rebuttal with real facts, real stats, and it's all you get is yeah. But, and, and I'm just so tired of this lazy argument of the Dak is only a regular season quarterback. What You've got to be kidding me. So you're telling me that you're, you're a fan of Eli Manning. Eli Manning's the best quarterback ever in your eyes because he's won a It wasn't Eli Manning winning it. It was a fuck. It was his defense and his receivers catching balls on their heads and just everything coming together all at once. It's crazy to me that you can't we can't even have a conversation with a normal person on on that website about the Green Bay Packers game Yeah, and and I Like the people who are on Dax level, if they hated them as much as that, I would be okay with that. Like, like for instance, the, the Trevor Lawrence to me, he's better than Trevor Lawrence. He's accomplished more. Look at Trevor Lawrence is like in what his fifth year, So look at year five pick two. Those are the three that I compared Dak Herbert and Lawrence. He's more cumbersome both of those guys But both of those guys got the huge extensions and have worse failures. I mean Herbert was up by three scores I believe and they Ended up losing in the playoffs Could you imagine a hate that could get if he was up by three scores and somebody came back and beat him? It's not even He gets zero hate wasn't wasn't weren't the Jacksonville Yeah, and they will and they came back but these guys were top five pigs Lawrence was one and I want to say Herbert was number five is he the top five or top eight for sure? But don't like those are the guys supposed to take it to the promised land. That was a fourth rounder We tried to draft Paxton Lynch and Connor cook before him and we lucked into him But he gets all this hate, like he's supposed to come in and be like, he's a DeMarcus Russell, It just drives me insane. Yeah. And so that argument is what is they're, they're building their Hill on that. I can't like, it just drives me insane that you hate, you cannot stand to get, and you want to get rid of somebody. that has brought you to the fucking playoffs and has won games for you that you shouldn't have won. You shouldn't need to say, Hey, think about it. Can you think back in the last three seasons? Think Yeah. Where he specifically lost it. The whole game is very hard to find either either dig and kind of be like him maybe. But it's like, look at these people, ask them, hey, did you win Employee of the Year last year? No? OK, then we're going to have to fire you. I'm sorry. You suck. You didn't make that sale? Can you take a pay cut? Can we keep your raise next year because you didn't win Employee of the Year, Employee of the Month? And so it's like, they place these ridiculous things on him and like, let's hate him. I'm like, one team gets to win. And it's only been like five quarterbacks that's won like the last 10, 12 years because Multiple quarterbacks winning. I mean like if you look at it drew brief on this entire career and won one Super Bowl Same thing I've ever seen he's won one Super Bowl and if you even like this last week where Somebody came up with the stats to compare Dak and what's the name? Chiefs where dad's stats were a little bit better than, than his. And then everybody's, yeah, both those are, you know, regular season stats. No, those are included. That does include the playoffs. It does include the extra games that Patrick played. I mean, again, it's, you can't get a fair, that's not getting a fair shake. And he, I mean, he's getting the Romo payment right off from this. I I don't know why I decided to try and reason with one of these guys and I was like, all right, so what could I show you that shows that Dak, like that you shouldn't be hating on Dak. It's like, well, show me his playoff record. And so I'm like, well, you don't hate Lawrence and you don't hate Herbert and they have worse playoff records. And until this year, Lamar Jackson had a worse playoff record than Dak. I'm like, Do you hate those guys? Well, no, but I'm like, see, there's nothing I can show you that can change your mind. So it's like, it's a moot point. If you want to hate him, that's fine. At least be, you know, reasonable with it. These people Exactly. Really. And so what I really want to do, sorry, my friend, people will say, man, you just hate on those guys. And I'm like, I don't hate Lawrence at all. In fact, I don't even think about him until he comes to the news. I don't think about Herbert. I don't think about Lamar Jackson. I, I focused You've got that message. And did like in your heart, did you go, Oh, he doesn't deserve that money. Like in my heart, I said, Oh, look at this. Another quarterback got paid. He deserves, he's And so it's not good. If that, if that was Dak Prescott signed that, Oh man, it's first take tomorrow. Does Jack dessert? Like, you know, I guarantee you the first segment is not going to be, does Trevor Lawrence deserve this contract tomorrow on first take or speak up or whatever if but if but if that was that they would lead off with that first segment in every unless unless Caitlin Clark got shot in the face that would be this first segment on every talk show tomorrow if Dak got that contract. And it's just ridiculous. And so it's like, and I'm going to call it out every time I see it, just so people know, because they're not going to use the excuse that, oh, I didn't think I was, nobody ever said I was being unreasonable. Yeah, yeah, we did. Because I'm telling you right now that you are, and I'm going to call it out every time I see it. Because there are people who hate Dak, but they make reasonable assessments, and not hate, but like think that he's a Below air or you know average quarterback and they make reasonable assessments and I'm like, yeah, I can see where you came to that I don't agree, but I can see that and I don't get mad at him when they say the dumb stuff That's when I come for him. Just call me Dax defense I've been DDA I'm DDA I've been in this position for Decade now, right I've been defending Romo for a very long time. I was defending him for like Yeah, I've I've I've ruined relationships and friendships and stuff over like Like my friend's spouse is saying stuff about Romo. I'm not kidding like it's been So I I definitely am just I'm just getting tired of the Always having to defend the Cowboys quarterback from not only outside but from the inside too. It's just that But let's move on, bro. We got, we got other Yeah. Before do it. So, I mean, it's not much. And so one thing I did want to touch on that I saw, so you know how they have hard knocks and that in that, that summer program they have, what, what, what, where, where they do the whole season and then do a show after it. So apparently the Cardinals, Arizona Cardinals, they have their own. It's on YouTube. It's not like a NFL sanctioned show. They have their own. And that's the prime one because the Cowboys was on that one time and I was like, yes, it was perfect. But so the Cardinals have one, but it's not NFL sanctioned. It's just the Cardinals and they have it on YouTube. So one part of that show that came out was in the draft. They really wanted to move up and the Cowboys was a spot they wanted to move up to. So they called them and it's like, Hey, we'll give you. And so we had pick 24. I still remember this. We had picked 24 and they wanted to give us 20, was it 27? I want to say to 27 and 1 0 4. 27 and They, they, we had 24 and one 74. They wanted to send, like, take our 27 and one, And they wanted us to take their 27th pick and one old four. Okay. which of course we know we didn't do it. We went with Detroit because even though we fell back two more slots, we ended up getting number 73. So 29 and 73 for 24 and 174. And it ended up working out, but they had the whole conversation talking. And I like stuff like that, that shows the inside dealings, because I know a lot of times, like, cause I'm one of them where I feel like, man, this front office, they're, Pissing me off. They're making me mad. But until you get to see how these conversation goes, what they do, how they turn it down. And so a lot of people thought that we didn't get enough for the, for the Detroit pick. And I'm like, well, look at the others offers we got from other people. We actually did get pretty good considering we had no fourth round pick and we got an That stuff was pretty good. That's crazy. That's That's it was a godsend and I think BB is gonna end up being the best player in this draft this year I think guidance gonna be the best player overall, but I think he's gonna be the best player this year speak out of our draft picks it gonna be be Texas I like so I started a new Madden Season so that I could go back and redraft people and make this real. So that's what I did. I Redraft everybody that we drafted and everything And then, uh, during the, during one of the first games, BB got hurt, right? So I had him at center and he got hurt and, um, I went to sleep. I woke up. I woke up and I thought like, in my head, I was, that really happened. I had to check DR BR real quick. I was like, was Jesus, please ignore Eddie and his bad karma getting We need him for the whole season No way I'm not doing that The other thing that happened this week that I think is worth noting is The UFL season is about to conclude right Cowboys tried out four players that were, uh, their, their teams are done. We can't sign them yet until Sunday, but these four players, uh, we, we brought in two linebackers and two QB, two corners and two of them were previous first round draft picks one with the giants and one with like the bears or something. But, uh, these, uh, the players that we brought in, I think we're, we'll, Be a godsend and we keep we keep Grabbing people at least one player a year from the UFL or XFL and they're they're really good for us Last year was Aubrey the year before it was Devante So, Yeah, Aubrey and Devante said so that was good. We brought in so so the people who want to know DeAndre Baker, he's the cornerback. He's the first round draft pick Gary on Conley Remember him. I was high on him in the draft and Someone named Willie Harvey Willie Harvey jr. I don't know who that is He's a Iowa State linebacker three-time all-american big 12 honorable mention man. The kid was he flew all over the field in college he was yeah, he went undrafted in 19, but He's So It's some people so they they released their all-ufl team and Some of these people we know like a keen Butler wide He was He looked like a man amongst boys out there, right? Man, he and all he did was I remember when he played for the job all he did was drop balls if you like I kept watching I'm like dude that somebody's gonna pick this kid up cuz he's about a foot taller than all these other cornerbacks and it's Yeah, he dropped a lot. I was I was glad when he played for the Giants cuz he sucked a lot for him I was glad but um Let me see who else. Um, so DeAndre Baker and Gary on Conley, I'm sorry. It's just DeAndre Baker. He made the all-ufl team AJ Thomas he was on there, but some of these I don't know him You might know him if they were on your team, but they're like a lot of no-name Those are the biggest names. I saw that was on the all-ufl team, but we do good we Turpin and and Autobot Aubrey, so yeah, I said we bring in one keep the street going the the other two teams Also have some pretty good players, but they won't be interviewing or working out with anybody till after Sunday after yeah until after yeah, it's kind of like how they This last game because these lot these playoffs have actually been pretty good Competitive and some of these plays that I mean, it's like what cuz they're combined with the XFL right It's the USFL and the XFL combined To make the UFO, but the thing about it is is that they kept them separate. So like There was a UFO USFL Gotcha, so but like The, the, what I was kind of feeling when I was watching them the other day is like, it's almost like it's the end of the game and these guys are getting a chance to play. Right. And we talked about this a little bit. They were, you know, these guys are finally getting a chance to shine and we'll do anything and everything they possibly can. So you're seeing these guys on these like kickoff and like, uh, these, this random plays where they're given like 150% of everything they got, because this is the last time they're going to ever put a helmet on. And it's just, it was fun to watch these last couple of weeks. So I encourage you guys to watch this last game coming up because these, these kids have been working their whole lives off of just this one last shot. And I mean, if you spend a little time watching them, you'll see the passion of these, these kids have, whether it be, I mean, it might be the referees last chance and trying to be a referee in the end of, you know what I mean? And we were, Yeah. So that's good. So we'll see. We'll see how that goes. I'm one thing I am excited for. You know how last year they had that show on Netflix with the quarterbacks had Kirk Cousins and Mahomes and what's the guy from the I can't remember his name. Mariotta. Yeah. Yeah. And so they had those three guys on there. So apparently a lot of quarterbacks turned them down this year. Nobody wanted to do it Even that went on record said now they asked me and I said no but a lot of top-name quarterbacks said no So they went with the receivers, you know, the receivers a diva so so they won't have any problem getting receivers to do it so this year they have Justin Jefferson Debo Kittle And I'm, I'm in Ross St. Brown from Detroit. So they're all, all pros top of the line receivers. And so it's four of them and we'll see It's kind of crazy how they got decent this summer. Kittle together Yeah. It's going to be a little bit. So we get to see them lose a Superbowl, which is very, very good to me. I get to see them be all sad and it's all from last year. Yeah. It's always from the, from the previous year. Yeah. So we'll get to see the 2023, 24 season. And so I, So I'm excited about that. I'm gonna definitely watch the same Brown against the Cowboys that that will be asked Oh, yeah, we get to see that game with the yeah with the with the whole Ineligible the clearing and all that Let them suck on that and we get to play them again this year too. We play Detroit again this year. So Not in Detroit to rehash that again Yeah, we're playing in Dallas, but we're I mean we're playing against Detroit this year. So they'll rehash that all over again The eligible receiver all over like I want them to try that that that that trick again do it again Yeah, you should come out cost yourself to get come out tackle eligible for very first play just to do it very first play Tyler guidance declaring eligible Yeah, anyway, we'll see but overall yeah, so right now now since so nothing really is happening OTAs are winding down for everybody or, or the mandatory mini camps winding down for everybody. So at this point, nothing's going to happen for a month until training camp starts in July 20. So, so we got a month off of no real news unless something, you know, they signed somebody like they'd sign DAC or they sign whoever or anybody else gets signed or somebody gets arrested. Because it's no other job like it's no other big-name signings out there like free agent wise So it's gonna be a pretty dead season. So this is really the crazy time because now content makers who rely on Hot takes they really have to reach into their bag to come up with ridiculous stories to talk about they're gonna be the ones that are trying to figure out just try to bring something to light or You got So you got to be careful. Yeah in these next couple weeks just be Hey, one thing I wanted to mention that I forgot about talking about was I don't know if you saw the reactions to the training camp or not training camp, but the OTA is in Chicago. But some of the writers and and some of the big, big guys out there are a little concerned because of I know there's no pads on right now, but Caleb looks like, shoot. That's But even like, it's just like the one-on-one drills where he's just thrown to a line. He's thrown to a line of receivers running around. It's like, he can't even hit the receivers or they're having to wait for the ball. And like, they're, they're kind of laughing. Like what's going on? I haven't had to do this since I was in junior high. So yeah, I'm, I'm really, uh, I Yeah, I hope he's better than what it is. But some people just just peak in college like a Johnny Manziel. I mean, it is peak in college. Yeah My dog's whining over in the corner and I'm trying I Said swinging at the air But anyway Yeah, but I I hope he's not especially since they're the hard knocks team this year. So we're definitely gonna see that So we'll see if he struggles or anything like that. We're not funny. Yeah, they're the hard knocks team It's definitely going to be entertaining Yeah, I only wish failure on NFC East foes and people I hate like the Packers or the 49ers Other than that, I don't want to see anybody else fail But just those those five teams are who I hate the most right now So Packers 49ers and anybody else in the NFC East. I want them to fail miss I wouldn't I wouldn't be sad or upset if they didn't win You guys can send an email care of Prescott The 49er fans any of these fans that are feeling any hatred towards what Prescott just said, you know Just because he's wishing don't like him you know, injured and stuff on these players. Yeah. Anyway, but that's all going on. So let me see what else. What else you got going on? I think it's anything else big going on. I guess that they couldn't make a big enough story out of the whole Parson Zimmer They tried their best when they tried their best. And It's all right. But overall I like this offseason for us because it's very quiet all the stuff is being like before we used to give them stuff to talk about this offseason It seems like they're having the manufacturer stuff, which is good in our eyes That means that we're sitting low-key nothing majors going on and if they have to make up stuff He put out something about Dax contract and he's like, yeah, we're talking about He's like exactly. Yeah, but to be honest with you everything's closed door. So everything I mean, that's Yeah, just make it Just like that one guy just came with a story that back is asking for 60 million and ever since then That's what everybody says. We can't pay deck 60 million. Like no one is asking for 60. I mean He would sign it if they gave him 60 million, but he's not pounding to tell you like, sign me a 60 million, not a penny less, or I'm leaving. It's not anything like And that's what they ran with. Trevor Mellor is 55. DACL signed for about 57, 58. Unless two If two assigns before him, DACL gets 60. But I Like to look it up and see but yeah, cuz I know golf got golf was one of them But but but but he got his yeah, and so yeah, we just have to see what happens cuz um Who else cuz Carson West was the only other top-notch quarterback from Dax draft that would be getting one and he's not even League no He might, he might get, uh, Carson Wentz might get paid $60 million to not play for a team. Like somebody like, Hey, please don't come to our team. We'll pay you 60 million to not play for us. Please. I remember when that was a legit argument, like it was a legit argument. Carson Wentz is better than Dak Prescott and he's going to have a better career. And I'm like, that was a legit argument that people spent I remember the days where they were trying to tell us that Yeah, I remember that too, because he because he won the Super Bowl that year, even though he was back up the whole time. But yeah, so it's so so much fun to go back and listen to these. And a lot of people don't realize they can you You can pull up old reddit post You can put up old stuff you said to show you how dumb you were back then but they don't but don't do it because I don't have Today they just Twitter just went back to You can't see I can't like if somebody liked something you can't see. Yeah, I like see Yeah, you kind of These last Couple years you kind of thought about you know before you liked something Yeah, you kind of thought, you know, do I want to have this as something that I've always on record that I like Hey Think about it. I still might want to be president like train just keep liking things that you want to see Because it comes back. They're gonna be like you like me. You like the Champion shirts But the one thing I like is when I go on YouTube and I watch videos, and it'll be some simple video, like a cat video, but it'll have like 3,000 comments. You're like, what in the world are they talking about? And like the first comment will be like, oh, cute cat. Then when you scroll down, like the 2,000 comment is, how in the world are you going to say Transcendentalist Italy is better than Transcendentalist Denmark? I'm like, how y'all even get on this subject? Like, it's crazy. The comment section. And These guys got real smart to like on like on Facebook and Instagram and stuff. If if you comment on something that was sent out by something really big, like USA Today or something like these trolls now will respond to you and try to get you really right away by like, hey, click on my picture. So, you know, like it has nothing to do with what you just responded. But they're just, they're just looking for the big articles and looking to Yeah. To them. That's that's to them. That's that's customers. Yeah. They get a big article. Those are like the older people. That's customers If you have to pay for something with a gift card that you have to go get a target, then it is a scam. Do Yeah. It's, it's unbelievable with the amount of information we have out there that people still fall for stuff like that. But Mike, because it's something that I can understand that somebody fell for it because it's legit. It looks legit. They set it up, but to have somebody call you and say, Hey, if you don't pay this fine, you're going to jail. And the only way to pay it is to get an iTunes gift card from Walmart and to call me with the number, man, Yeah. Like I had, I worked with some dude that gave this person like 300 bucks and it's not like it was a big old thing, but I mean, you physically It's man. I was always waiting for the Saturday Night Live skit where they have some Nigerian prince, and he's sitting in a castle full of money, and he's writing his diaries like, no one will take my money. No one will take my money. I've been trying to give it away for years, and they keep calling me a scam, and nobody will take my millions that I'm trying to give away. That'll be hilarious.
