Intro 00:00:00  I come. Here we go. Here I come. Here we go. Yeah, come. Here we go. Yeah. Yeah. Cooper blue and I.

Intro 00:00:10  Fought through a lot. Do not like us. How you're walking with a lion. Got me feeling like Michael. I've been on the way. The team on my bad. Like a biker Shorty wanna be with a star. But you lucky if I invite you. We can take it to the next spot. The yellin like Dred Scott. Everybody like there ain't no brakes, no rest stop. We tryna get your head chopped.

Intro 00:00:26  The whole club yelling. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody.

Prescott 00:00:37  Everybody. So here we go. Victory Formation podcast. This Prescott talking to you, boy. Eddie episode four I tell him how you feel. Eddie.

Eddie 00:00:45  Oh, not feeling too good this week. We got a. I know it's okay, though. You're not going to feel best every week, right? Especially so.

Eddie 00:00:55  Yeah. We did. Well, maybe.

Prescott 00:00:56  You need to get sick. Maybe. Maybe you need to get sick every week until after the Super Bowl.

Eddie 00:01:00  Oh no, I don't think that was our that.

Prescott 00:01:02  That was our good luck charm. You got sick. We won. So let's keep that going. So I'm going to send some disease riddled poodles or dogs to your house and just have them lick your face.

Eddie 00:01:13  Right. Nice. Nice. Yeah. This week was good. it was, it was definitely a positive. Even though everyone tried to make as much negative, you know, jargon as they possibly could about us winning the game. Not. Yeah. It had to be like our fan base that made a win a bad thing, right?

Prescott 00:01:35  I understand it, man. I don't understand it. You can't. You're not going to win pretty or win by a lot. Like I mean you see other people like for some reason when other teams beat teams, they're supposed to beat in is close somehow.

Prescott 00:01:48  It's a gritty win. man, they did great. They really showed some moxie. But when we do it, the sky is falling.

Eddie 00:01:55  Oh, yeah. That's. Yeah. Just the other day, I saw a headline that said, Josh Allen almost pulls them out, almost pulls it out. But then the the flip side of that was Dax. Dax throws a bunch of passes in garbage time.

Prescott 00:02:14  Garbage time. Are you.

Eddie 00:02:15  Talking about.

Prescott 00:02:17  It kills me. I'm like. To me, garbage time is is fourth quarter. You're losing by 30. It's no way you're gonna win. They took out all their starters and you're just passing up and down against their second and third string. To me, that's garbage time. If you're down two scores, maybe 17 points, you know, three scores. And it's the middle of the third quarter. That's not garbage time. You have plenty of time to come back and win that game because I've seen people score three touchdowns in one quarter.

Eddie 00:02:43  So garbage time to me is there's not enough time on the on the, on the clock.

Eddie 00:02:49  Just start getting people in so that we don't get injuries. And that's when you start scoring on their third and fourth team. 14. That's garbage time. Not when you're coming back. And the second half. Whatever you.

Prescott 00:03:02  Say. Like on that. On the last pass. Like in the in the Baltimore game. Say he hadn't completed that pass, they would have kicked to us with like 230 on the clock. That's more than enough time to get a field goal. Yeah. So I understand it's garbage time, but that's just people wasting their breath. Anyway, on to on to, Well, we already beat the Giants. So on to Pittsburgh, which, I don't know, this is a good thing or not, but they say that Justin Fields is going to play, which he's not as good of passers. Russ. But right now our weakness is running quarterbacks and running. So that might be a good thing for them. So we'll have to see if that's a good thing for us.

Eddie 00:03:42  It's almost like though like they have to have a threat behind that running quarterback for the quarterback to be a threat. Exactly.

Prescott 00:03:49  Yeah.

Eddie 00:03:49  So it's it's just to us because we do have the linebackers that can run with these running quarterbacks. It's not that it's and even like I it's funny is I just was watching Manti Te'o break down the Cowboys defense which is I was like wow I haven't seen it's crazy on this.

Prescott 00:04:07  And I haven't seen him since the documentary.

Eddie 00:04:09  But I mean, you got to think about it like he was an amazing athlete. I don't care if you fell in love with it. He was great. He was great. He loved. He fell in love with the computer ghost. But he he knew what he was doing on the football field. And like, what he did when he broke it down, he was like, the Cowboys defense isn't bad. They're just not ready. Yeah. And he's like and you can see like he's like they're moving around and they're talking to each other and trying to get in the right position.

Eddie 00:04:36  And the other team's about to snap the ball and it's every single time. Yeah. So as soon as the team I mean you said it earlier that the team, the defense was going to take a little while to get used to this. Yeah. We're just getting used to like running around and not being in the right positions.

Prescott 00:04:51  If you listen to the podcast Before the season started, we had a whole breakdown on this. Zimmer's defense takes time to learn. They start off slow and then by mid-season, they're really good. By the end of his first season, they're great, and then by the second season they're elite. So I anticipated this. The only thing was that first game made it look like fool's gold. Like we were already elite that very first game because we played a inept Deshaun Watson. And so it made us look really, really good when we weren't really good yet. So when we played those next two games, that's where the learning curve comes in. And everywhere Zimmer has gone, the same thing happens.

Prescott 00:05:33  He comes in, they start off slow the first half of the season by the by the by the two thirds of the season they start getting good and you start noticing the difference. And then by the last 4 to 6 games they're really really good. And so that's how it always is. And so I anticipate that's how it's going to be for us. And that's why I wasn't really freaking out right now, because this is what I expected. It's like this with the with the Browns game.

Eddie 00:06:01  It wasn't who did who was the second game against? I forgot who it was. It was somebody would be Saints. That was another goal. I know that was that was the opposite of that fool's gold because I think they just weren't ready for for that. We're not that.

Prescott 00:06:19  Bad. It's not we we're not as good as the Browns game and we're not as bad as the Saints.

Eddie 00:06:24  Let's put it that way. The the it's not the it's not that we don't have the players we have we have the players for this defense and the offense.

Eddie 00:06:34  We don't have a running back. But I mean we we have the players. We just need they need a little bit of time in there. And I also have a coach on the field, remember.

Prescott 00:06:42  Yeah. Because we just gotta remember the difference between Quinn's defense and Zimmer's defense. Quinn puts his people in position to make plays and but Zimmer. He his players need to be where he tells them to be to make the play. If they're not, if they don't do their job like you always hear Bill Belichick on his do your job. If they don't do their job, they'll look bad. And that's why if you don't do your job, Zimmer will pull you out of there. That's why, overthrown looked spectacular week one. And then week two, they benched him because he wasn't doing his job. He was trying to play. He wrote ball.

Eddie 00:07:17  It's it's it's you gotta you gotta think of the people that have played before, even in like, even basketball. You understand this like with with zone defense.

Eddie 00:07:27  When, when the rope is pulled one way. I mean, you're all tied to that same rope.

Prescott 00:07:31  Yeah. Yeah.

Eddie 00:07:31  Right. And when in, like in, in Zimmer in Quinn's defense, it was every man for himself. It was go get your stats. It was go get your sack. Go get your pressure. Go intercept your ball I mean that was Quinn's defense. It was 11 singular players out there. I mean, it wasn't bad. Yeah, yeah, it wasn't bad.

Prescott 00:07:52  It's actually pretty good. Yeah. They led the league in takeaways. Almost every year he was there.

Eddie 00:07:57  But it was when we're not focusing just on I need to get an interception when you're actually saying I need to stop the ball. I mean, my coach, my coach used to say this when I was in high school right away, like every single time he saw me swinging at the ball from defense, he'd be like, okay, Chavez, what's a good, hitting percentage in baseball? I mean, 300.

Eddie 00:08:23  So how many times did you hit the ball out of ten? If you hit 300? I say three. He says you just gave up seven touchdowns. He's like, you're never going to touch the field if you give up seven touchdowns. He said, stop swinging the fucking ball. Do your job. If I if I tell you to do something, do it. And that's exactly how I learned. And this is how it happened.

Prescott 00:08:45  Exactly. That's how it is in Quinn's defense. When they weren't getting their stats, when they weren't getting the sacks or the interceptions. They looked terrible because they weren't playing as a unit.

Eddie 00:08:54  Yeah, people are falling all over each other blaming each other.

Prescott 00:08:57  Yeah. And so with Zimmer, the difference with his is he is making it to where one person doesn't have to be the hero, to where we can still win and be an effective defense if Parsons has a bad game. If, if, if Diggs doesn't shut his man down, we still can win because the defense still holding them.

Prescott 00:09:14  And that's why I like against green Bay. Nobody was doing anything right. We just got destroyed. But Zimmer's defense that won't happen because everything else is working in tandem all together. So it's like 11. There's one instead of 11 individual players which which I like which will get better. And it got better against like you tell from it was bad in the first half against Baltimore and then it got better in the second half against Baltimore. It was really good against the Giants. And now we get to see how they perform against the Steelers. And so that's why I say it's going to get better. So I think.

Eddie 00:09:51  The only thing that we can't fix is injuries. And the injuries bug is getting us. I think the injury bug got us a little bit later than, than a lot of the NFL. But, you know, tank, tank, you can't really expect to go for 17 games. We know that he's going to have a little hurt. Micah Micah gets banged up here and there.

Eddie 00:10:14  But those two together at the same time.

Prescott 00:10:16  Oh my gosh. Especially since we let Dorrance Armstrong and Dante Fowler go. I mean they picked up some those two guys.

Eddie 00:10:24  Those two guys are actually starting on the commanders on the.

Prescott 00:10:28  Sides know what everything is to. Yeah. And and and and he was and he was playing and making plays in that last game. I watched that game.

Eddie 00:10:37  I know you did, everybody. I just want you guys to know Prescott is a full out Washington fan. He is sucking the balls of the commanders.

Prescott 00:10:46  Oh, like Jayden Daniels and LSU. He's my boy, man.

Eddie 00:10:50  He says it with the with the, Oh, man, I hate that. I hate Jayden Daniels every single time. Yeah, I hate that I.

Prescott 00:10:58  Like him I hate.

Eddie 00:10:59  That I like him.

Prescott 00:10:59  The only one I get.

Eddie 00:11:01  When I get it, I get it, I get it. I believe me, every time I Notre Dame guy goes to somewhere, I'm like, fuck.

Prescott 00:11:06  Man, I hate the Washington C words. I hate them. And then I hate that neighbors went to the Giants. If they had to win somewhere else, I would have been loving them. I just.

Eddie 00:11:14  I think I think it's funny that like, they're all crawling under their out of their rocks and they're like, oh man, you know, making fun of Dak and Jerry and stuff. And I'm like, are you guys serious? If we went back not even like 11 months ago, you guys I was like, yeah, I was like your owner was griping everybody and not paying his employees. And and the coaches were lying to people and, and betting on their on the opposite teams. Defensive linemen were punching each other on the sidelines.

Prescott 00:11:44  Oh.

Eddie 00:11:45  Yeah. And you guys. And then you guys decide to start trolling the Cowboys community now because you guys won three games against three shitty teams. Fuck the commanders, man.

Prescott 00:11:55  They Yeah. And then like and then we'll win have three straight 12 and five seasons.

Prescott 00:12:01  But we suck and they win three games in a row. Oh man. The Cowboys aren't ready for us. Like oh my gosh I can't wait. People use it man. They love us. I call it the Josh Dobbs Corollary. I don't even know what corollary means, but it sounds fancy. But ever since you remember last year when we played Arizona and he had the game of his life, he just tore us to shreds. Never had another game after that. In fact, I don't even know what team he's on right now. Like he never had another good game after the game. He destroyed us like he was like, get up to play the Cowboys.

Eddie 00:12:32  You know that after that last year two other teams signed him because of that. Like not kidding I got.

Prescott 00:12:38  Traded to one and then and then he got released, and then he got picked up by somebody. You played like two other teams there.

Eddie 00:12:44  Like, did you see that Dallas game, man?

Prescott 00:12:46  Just just go from where he's at right now.

Prescott 00:12:48  That's all.

Eddie 00:12:48  That's all he shows to people is the Dallas game highlights.

Prescott 00:12:51  Just shooting that. And then I saw.

Intro 00:12:54  A.

Prescott 00:12:56  Highlight of him when he beat him. And Jajuan Jennings was on Tennessee. And they had a game against Georgia when he threw a Hail Mary. And and John Jennings cut the Hail Mary for Tennessee. That was probably like between that that play and the game against the Cowboys, that's just the only two pieces of film he has in his house at all times. But then anybody comes over like, oh, accidentally hit play and watch this Cowboys game anyway.

Eddie 00:13:21  So check this out because I want I wanted to talk about something that that was kind of a bigger issue. Not I mean not a bigger issue, but it was something that that I dealt with today was, you know, we're talking about we both know that Brandin Cooks is not going to be on the on the field this week. He had a little bit of a knee procedure in New York.

Prescott 00:13:45  Yep.

Eddie 00:13:46  They said it was terrible.

Eddie 00:13:48  He was having some fun. I mean, you could if you think about it, if he's been having MCL issues, it kind of goes by what reason why he hasn't been getting open. But I mean, since he had a little procedure done in New York and it's usually it's just a, it's a, it's a shot I guess something. And he became infected. Something happened and it became infected. So yeah he's not going to be playing this week. Maybe next week. Yeah. This week maybe next week at the most. But anyway so you know everybody's freaking out and they're like oh Davante Adams this and Amari Cooper this. And we need to trade for this. And we need to get this guy. And we need to get that guy. And I'm like yeah I said at some point I'd say okay guys relax. I was like, we know our front office. We know our front office is going to do this. We're not going to sign another $30 million receiver. We're not we're probably not going to go bend the knee to Amari and say we're sorry, will you come back.

Eddie 00:14:46  That's not going to happen. Yeah. And I was like, if you think about who we have on the team right now.

Prescott 00:14:54  It's time.

Eddie 00:14:55  It is Florida time. He's coming up. They're bringing them up. And but Tolbert and Turpin I mean.

Prescott 00:15:02  Brooks and Flournoy.

Eddie 00:15:04  I don't think Brooks is going to I don't think they're going to bring Brooks up. But the the thing about it is, is when I started talking about this, you know, a couple people started saying, well, the Cowboys front office and the coaches, we don't develop players. It's like we draft players and we and we just let them go. And I was like, that's not true.

Prescott 00:15:22  That might be the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. That's that's not true at all.

Eddie 00:15:26  So I was like, yeah, I'm going to take a few minutes to create this list for this guy and just type it out. And so this is what I said, okay. I said some, some of these late rounders we've hit on or developed lately.

Eddie 00:15:39  and I said, let's start in 16 and I'm not worse.

Prescott 00:15:44  That's a deck in, antique gear.

Eddie 00:15:46  So let's let's say this well, I'm assuming fourth round and above because fourth round is third day. Right? Yeah.

Prescott 00:15:53  Yep. So we go with 4 to 7, 4 to 7. Yeah. So and then and then and then undrafted. Yeah.

Eddie 00:15:59  Well I didn't even do the undrafted suit because if I threw those that's even magic. But okay so 16 was Anthony Brown and Dak. They're both drafted in the fourth round I mean Anthony was drafted in the sixth. He became a starter. Yeah Dak franchise quarterback in the 17. We had Noah Brown and Xavier Woods Noah Brown in the seventh Xavier Woods in the sixth. They both started.

Prescott 00:16:22  Both of them are good.

Eddie 00:16:23  Yep in 18 we had Dalton Schultz in the fourth and Dorrance Armstrong in the fourth.

Prescott 00:16:28  Both those are two good picks.

Eddie 00:16:30  Yeah in 19 we had Donovan Wilson in the sixth and Tony Pollard in the fourth, both starters.

Prescott 00:16:38  Nice.

Prescott 00:16:38  Yeah.

Eddie 00:16:39  2020 Tyler Beard action in round four starting in the league still. 2021 we had. Now this is where it gets kind of Matt. Pharaonic. Pharaonic. I liked him. He was he was going to be our our swing inside offensive lineman until he got hurt. we had him in the seventh. We got Israel and now we got I say a move.

Prescott 00:17:06  Yeah.

Eddie 00:17:08  He he he definitely, contributes. He was in the sixth, Josh.

Prescott 00:17:12  And he's still on the team too. Right now.

Eddie 00:17:15  Josh ball in the fourth round I know a lot of people don't like him, but we've spent so many coaching hours on Josh ball. And he played significant time last year. Yeah. 2022. Damon Clarke in the fifth. bland in the fifth. Matt will let's go in the fifth. Jake Ferguson and the fourth, all starters. All but Matt.

Prescott 00:17:37  Bland is pretty good, though. Bland is pretty good, I like him.

Eddie 00:17:40  Shit, Clarke is good. Ferguson is good as.

Prescott 00:17:43  An all pro.

Eddie 00:17:44  Well, let's go with a started at left tackle. If it wasn't hurt this year, you know that, right?

Prescott 00:17:49  You would have. Yeah yeah they would have had him starting over. give give guy. Oh a little guy guy would walk.

Eddie 00:17:55  I mean he would have watched for the first couple games. Yeah. And then in 23 we drafted Deuce and a same Richards. Now I know Deuce is really stretching it, but he's we're we're spending coaching hours on him and he's playing.

Prescott 00:18:09  He's okay. Yeah.

Eddie 00:18:10  But what he what I'm arguing about is I didn't I'm not arguing that these fourth rounders and these UEFA's bless you are these guys are not all pros. They're they were developed and they played significant roles on 312 and five playoff teams.

Prescott 00:18:29  Yeah.

Eddie 00:18:30  All of those guys did. So. So for somebody to say we don't develop people, that's bullshit. The other teams don't develop them. Other teams say, oh, you're on the practice squad, let's trade. Let me let me free agency by these guys.

Eddie 00:18:44  And they're still I mean look at the Eagles right now. No Eagles are two and two right now. And they're in 2029. Their cap is like $190 million $422 million.

Prescott 00:18:56  And for people who don't realize what we're saying is we're not we're not saying lightning in a bottle like that. Who came in starting doing well. We're talking about people who came in. We're like, well, if he does good, good if he doesn't. And then after like 1 to 3 years, they were very, very good players. That's what we're talking about. They or they're significantly better than when they joined our team. And all those players are falling that range except for like bland, bland and Dak might be the only two that were like like lightning in the box.

Eddie 00:19:25  There was another one.

Prescott 00:19:25  In there too, immediately like, man, anybody would pick those guys.

Eddie 00:19:30  Schultz was pretty good. Schultz was kind of on that. Ferg. Ferg, I think, is on that plant on that same plateau because he is an elite.

Eddie 00:19:38  He's a top five tight end in the league. I think right.

Prescott 00:19:40  Now he is. Yes. But fuck. So that's crazy. Develop players we.

Eddie 00:19:46  Developed.

Prescott 00:19:46  Not even getting into our talks about the UEFA's first and second round players. Yeah I mean and I'm not even talking about our first two second round players who, you know, immediately start out like Tyler Smith and all those guys. And then the undrafted free agents like Turpin and Autobot. Yeah. Like that. Like, man, it's crazy.

Eddie 00:20:08  I mean, we do we draft him or he was a UFA. He was he was full, Aubrey. Aubrey from on the couch from the.

Prescott 00:20:17  US USFL or whatever, whatever league they came from. Nope. But I think Will McClay is the only thing that's stopping our team from Second like, well, you know them and the coaches. I mean, he can pick the players, but the coaches still have to coach him up and develop them. But he finds coaches that fits the system that we want.

Prescott 00:20:36  And so it's a very well oiled machine. But I.

Eddie 00:20:40  Think I think.

Prescott 00:20:40  GM still messes it up.

Eddie 00:20:42  But I think what will will does really good. you watch the, the Giants hard knocks. How how much did that. Yeah. Did the to the GM communicate with the other coaches when he was talking I'm like he didn't say, hey, who do you think should be on this list and blah blah blah. He said, this is the list and this is what we're going to go after. Yeah. Where I think Will isn't in that position to I'm the big GM up here. I think he works with everybody on the in the coaching squad. I mean, al, al had a big voice in some of these DBS being drafted. I you got to know that and I mean and mean, I know we don't have the great offensive linemen, coach, but you know, some of these some of these coaches know what they're talking about. And I mean, spending 20 years in the in the NFL, you you you have to know what you're talking about.

Eddie 00:21:42  So if you're grabbing information from them about the kind of players that you want to have on your team that you want to coach, I think it does wonders.

Prescott 00:21:51  For what I think. Where where we'll differ from most games is he doesn't do the business side, he just does the player personnel side like he's the drafter, the the player, stock up and down like you're talking about, like.

Eddie 00:22:06  He's not the finance guy. He doesn't need to.

Prescott 00:22:08  Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's not in there negotiating dak's contract. He's just in there like. All right, we need a wide receiver. We we want a tall, lanky wide receiver. Good shuttle run. We don't need him to be as burner. Just, you know, good start and stop. Okay. Let me go find you the.

Eddie 00:22:24  Top.

Prescott 00:22:24  Four and we'll get you some.

Eddie 00:22:25  Yeah. So we'll go and get you the guys that you need. Stephen will say, okay, I have $14 million to spend. Don't don't overspend this.

Eddie 00:22:36  You, you know, so it's hard. It's hard, you know, it's when I go when I used to go grocery shopping as a husband, as the dad of the family. And when I was grabbing everything, I mean, I was like, yeah, people love this. I'm. When I come home, I'm like, look what I got, I got.

Prescott 00:22:52  I got, I.

Eddie 00:22:53  Got 2 or 3 kinds of cereal people. I'm like, dad, dad, dad, dad and the and you know, your wife and the mom is like, your.

Prescott 00:23:00  Wife is like, what the.

Eddie 00:23:01  She's like, I'm gonna do. She's like, she was. She'll whisper. She's like, you don't.

Prescott 00:23:05  Have any vegetables.

Eddie 00:23:07  And she's like, I hope you, I hope you love this week of food, because next week we're not eating the veggie.

Prescott 00:23:16  Veggie straws are a vegetable.

Eddie 00:23:19  Exactly. But that's what I'm saying is like, there's there is a difference between, you know, when you when you are paying the bills and you know, the ones that I'm gonna make sure that the cable bill and the car bills out and my wife is going to make sure that the insurance bill goes out first.

Eddie 00:23:32  It's just the way that it's going to be. So I don't want the cable to go out. And she knows that you don't want the insurance go out. So, I mean, that's just so I think there's we should talk a little bit about this next upcoming game, but we do need to to talk about who was good and who was bad last week.

Hammer Drop 00:23:50  Yeah, I stand tough and carry a big, big hammer.

Prescott 00:23:56  Who's your,

Eddie 00:23:57  Wait, have you ever met that dude hammer?

Prescott 00:24:00  No, man, I, I hope I never do. He seems weird.

Eddie 00:24:04  You need to go buy a car from him. So, My my, on my, hammer of the week, I'm going to give it to Rico, because I think Rico, he had a. Even though that we're still not giving him the majority of the carries for some reason. Yeah.

Prescott 00:24:21  Men want to see us. Give him like 18 to 20. Just one game, like 18 to 20 carries.

Eddie 00:24:26  He averaged like 4.7 yards of carry.

Eddie 00:24:29  And he had he had a screen for a touchdown I mean he.

Prescott 00:24:33  Screen touchdown.

Eddie 00:24:34  Is he had a hell of a game. I'm going to give mine to Rico. So swing that hammer.

Prescott 00:24:41  Notice I'm giving mine to Autobot Aubry. But but I'm going to give it to Mozzy this week. Now I like to responded to all he. He responded to all the critics. Everybody says you can't do this. Get him out of here. He sucks. He was a menace in this Giants game. That was he was a menace. I think we were.

Eddie 00:25:05  Talking in the discord about like a couple of those hits that he made. He made one play on the sidelines that we were like, oh, mozzy, you know, oh yeah, there was a play that he he shot in the gap, and I think he hit the running back before he even got the ball. Singletary was like getting the hand off as he was tackling him.

Prescott 00:25:19  Yeah, exactly. And he did. I mean, he was the d d tackle that we've been looking for.

Prescott 00:25:26  And as much as I want to give it to Aubrey, he did miss that field goal because the the Mafia had his daughter tied up in the basement. They didn't.

Eddie 00:25:34  You know, they gave it.

Prescott 00:25:34  To us. They didn't want him to, cover the spread, man. The the the point spread was five and a half and we were down five, so he missed that. I mean, there.

Eddie 00:25:44  Was a bunch of tweets right after that, you know. You know, they're giving them a stock party after that with the soap after they were like.

Prescott 00:25:50  But, and, and then, you know, who else had a solidly good game. baby against Lawrence. Lawrence. To me, Lawrence is after Aaron Donald left Dexter Lawrence. Now he's the best d tackle in the league. He's he is ridiculous.

Eddie 00:26:05  And how many pressures how many pressures did he give up?

Prescott 00:26:07  Zero. Zero. How many against Bibby.

Eddie 00:26:09  If you took how many pressures and added how many pressures he gave the week before, it still would be zero because he's having a fucking hell of a year.

Prescott 00:26:19  He is. And and a lot of people. And we're not hearing his name. So that makes him having a good game. He is not a mauler, but he is very good in pass protection right now. He's average to a little bit above average in the run game. But pass protection nobody's getting. He anchors and he stands. He forklifts people. He just stands there. So Dak doesn't really have a lot of pressure in his face, which is good for that because that's where it hurts him the most. If it comes from the side, that can make stuff happen. But what if it comes straight up into his face? He's like rendered and that's why they got rid of beards.

Eddie 00:26:54  Most, most quarterbacks don't like pressure up the middle because it makes you feel uncomfortable, because you can't step forward if it's coming, if it's coming from the side, you can step side. And so but if it's coming up, up the middle, you have to move sideways to, to be able to throw.

Prescott 00:27:12  So Romo used to say that to it in the booth. He would say, if you let somebody come free and let him come from the edge, I can make that guy miss. But the guy coming straight up the middle, that's. It's really hard to make him miss and still make a play. It's easier to make the the guy coming from the edge miss and then still make a play. So you always say that. And then I always remember that.

Eddie 00:27:33  It's 100% true. That's all I've always heard. Pressure up the middle for quarterbacks will always make them feel uncomfortable. Always.

Prescott 00:27:42  All right.

Eddie 00:27:43  So I.

Nailed It Drop 00:27:44  Did I nailed it. No.

Prescott 00:27:49  Who sucked this game? Who sucked?

Eddie 00:27:54  it think, you know, if I was going to, If I was going to give it to anyone. You okay? You go first because I this this, I would say is my process.

Prescott 00:28:11  I would say any cornerback not named Diggs like our our cornerback game wasn't strong this game, even though the new guy had that area, he had that that that interception to end the game, which is a good bounce back.

Prescott 00:28:25  But overall they weren't really at their strongest. Diggs was was good against neighbors like he shut neighbors down when he did have them. All the neighbors catchers came on every other cornerback not named Diggs. And so it's like.

Eddie 00:28:39  Except that.

Prescott 00:28:40  Just gave up. So many.

Eddie 00:28:42  Did. Diggs did give up two slants. The first. No. Did he give him a long pass too? Yeah. he gave up two very short.

Prescott 00:28:51  It was like a little zone they were doing. Yeah.

Eddie 00:28:54  So it's but.

Prescott 00:28:55  But overall all the corners except Diggs nails, they just got nailed.

Eddie 00:29:02  That was a tough game defensive back wise, because, we we didn't have bland we didn't have the rookie, you know, we were scrambling we had an, The new what? Weird name guy in there?

Prescott 00:29:18  Yeah, whatever his name was.

Eddie 00:29:20  But and but he didn't start. Boot started and Booth got booted.

Prescott 00:29:24  Starter got benched. Yeah. He's like, Zim was like, hey, come, come sit next to me.

Eddie 00:29:29  You know, if.

Eddie 00:29:30  You know more thinking about it, I'm really giving it to either Booth or donno. I'm so tired of seeing Donovan Wilson in the in the. Oh, my God, the guy's not near me anymore. phase.

Eddie 00:29:46  He cannot cover.

Prescott 00:29:47  It. Like, he just. He's a he's a straight in the box. He might just be like how we did those, experiments with linebackers, making safeties. Linebackers? He should just be a linebacker from now.

Eddie 00:29:58  Let's let's.

Prescott 00:29:59  Not cover.

Eddie 00:30:00  Let's make him a a special teams guy that just goes down and makes a bunch of tackles. Man, he doesn't cover nobody.

Prescott 00:30:07  He needs to go to the CJ Goodwin School of running in a straight line and hitting people. That's what he needs to go to because, he's been terrible. It's not.

Eddie 00:30:15  Just me. I mean, it's not just me that's saying this. Our safety suck bad right now, man.

Eddie 00:30:20  It's like.

Eddie 00:30:20  We not.

Prescott 00:30:21  Thought that that would have been a strength.

Eddie 00:30:23  We hang on to safeties till one year late. Too late? Yeah. I mean, think about it. Like last year we had, What was that dude's name? Number one kid. long tall guy.

Eddie 00:30:36  curse. Yeah. He was on our.

Eddie 00:30:38  Team a year long. Too long. Right? The year before he got rid of him. Last year. Last year's suck. This year, he was a clean favorite. Wilson. I think he's just on our team playing one year too long, and I. I think we should.

Eddie 00:30:52  Have said hooker.

Prescott 00:30:53  Was going to be.

Eddie 00:30:54  Man.

Eddie 00:30:54  No, I mean, you think about it, man. We hooker. Hooker was a injury prone old guy. That just wasn't I mean, he was barely on his last leg and then he came over to us, and now we expect him to be the best player and the on the top of the defense.

Eddie 00:31:12  He was he was.

Prescott 00:31:13  Pretty good last year. It's just now I don't know, like I'm telling you, I think I think maybe safety safety might be the hardest position to learn in Zimmer's new defense.

Prescott 00:31:23  And I think that's why they're so far behind. Yeah, we fucked up behind.

Eddie 00:31:28  By letting that kid go the that we.

Eddie 00:31:30  Had.

Prescott 00:31:31  And we have somebody on the D-line and somebody at linebacker who's been in Zimmer's defenses before that can talk to the D-line and talk to the linebackers like, no, no, you got to be here. We don't have anybody at safety doing that for them. So it's like they're just learning it on their own.

Eddie 00:31:46  And yeah.

Prescott 00:31:48  Oh man.

Eddie 00:31:49  Sucks. But it's terrible. We'll get.

Eddie 00:31:51  Better. We'll get better. I think that I think I think well Bell was hurt. He didn't get to play. So we play a little bit more bell. We got, boys, the men back there. yeah, I just, I really think that we made a mistake by then that you have. yeah. You have a or. You have to you go.

Eddie 00:32:09  Oh, we wanted that. Yeah, I.

Prescott 00:32:12  Know you're talking about. I gotta find his name.

Prescott 00:32:14  Remember, we released him and he got picked up.

Eddie 00:32:16  Yep.

Eddie 00:32:16  Like, within the hour.

Eddie 00:32:19  man.

Eddie 00:32:19  That's what sucks. When you release somebody and, like, somebody is already, like, on call.

Eddie 00:32:23  Waiting like.

Prescott 00:32:23  That. Like, I can't believe they let this guy go like they couldn't. It's kind of like when, they bypass the draft and you're like. And when you're doing a fantasy draft, like, oh, shoot, I can't. And I can mash that draft button fast enough.

Eddie 00:32:36  You're telling me, like, if you're like, in fantasy, like you've been waiting all week to or you've been waiting weeks to draft this one kid, and he's coming up and he's coming up. You're about to draft him. Somebody picks him, and now you have no idea what to do. And everybody's.

Eddie 00:32:48  I don't even know what.

Prescott 00:32:48  To do is like, man, you look like you're so sad. You look up, you're like, oh, shoot, I got 12 seconds to make a pick, and then you make a bad pick.

Eddie 00:32:55  Exactly.

Prescott 00:32:56  Anyway, yeah. So. So, you got any good quotes this week?

Eddie 00:33:02  Oh, that's one thing that, you know, I don't really No I don't. Let me see if I can find one real quick.

Eddie 00:33:11  Did you? I got one.

Prescott 00:33:12  Quote that all cowboy fans hate to hear come out of Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones's mouth.

Eddie 00:33:18  Please.

Prescott 00:33:19  We like our guys. We like our guys.

Eddie 00:33:23  One, our guys, there.

Eddie 00:33:25  Was one when we were talking. They were talking about, Dalvin Cook and their like Jerry was saying yeah, he he looks good. He looks ready.

Eddie 00:33:32  But there's more problem with that.

Eddie 00:33:34  What he said was was there's more pressing needs that we need that we need to pull up for from practice squad. And I didn't think about it.

Eddie 00:33:41  Yeah.

Eddie 00:33:42  I was like, oh shit, we gotta pull up two defensive ends that we haven't pulled up and we cannot.

Eddie 00:33:47  True.

Eddie 00:33:48  And we can only pull one guy up one more time. I think it's cooks somebody.

Eddie 00:33:54  We can only pull them up one more time and then they're done. They have to be on our 53. So it's,

Eddie 00:34:01  I think that Lawson.

Eddie 00:34:03  Carl Lawson probably. Yeah. So that's that's probably the only I mean that that's why cooks isn't isn't a is because we have so much. And I even think about until I read that quote, I'm just angry, like, hey, what are you doing you guys?

Prescott 00:34:17  There's none of our running backs are hurt. Not a single one of them are hurt.

Eddie 00:34:21  Well.

Prescott 00:34:23  I running backs are just all healthy and I would not.

Eddie 00:34:26  I would I don't know.

Eddie 00:34:29  I would say if I was a coach I would say, hey, this week let's just try leaving this guy on the bench and and bringing cooks up bring cook up like yeah somebody anybody. Think about it.

Eddie 00:34:43  Try it.

Eddie 00:34:45  Just give him one carry.

Prescott 00:34:46  You need some some life.

Eddie 00:34:47  Life into it man I want.

Eddie 00:34:50  I want the defense to go. Wait a minute, wait a minute.

Eddie 00:34:53  What's going on here? There's something else is something's weird. We can't run the same fucking defense 11 times in a row. We can't just cover the curl, but the curl swing. That's what people were saying.

Eddie 00:35:05  Oh, man. Anyway.

Prescott 00:35:07  So let's let's look ahead. So we.

Eddie 00:35:10  Got.

Prescott 00:35:11  Pittsburgh coming up. I checked into it. I called Mike Tomlin and he said that he's going to start Justin Fields today.

Eddie 00:35:19  Good.

Prescott 00:35:20  And so I mean, Justin Fields this week, which it's kind of a good and a bad because Justin Fields sucks as a quarterback. But he played good last game. And running is our weakness. If anything we're better against the pass then against the run. But both our best two best pass rushers is going to be gone. And De La is a good, run stuffing person. So now we got Nealon and Lawson probably going to be on the outside. And so we'll see how that goes.

Eddie 00:35:49  But I wonder if we bring a good team.

Eddie 00:35:52  To their.

Prescott 00:35:53  Defense is legit.

Prescott 00:35:55  the Steelers you know, what's a weird stat that I saw this week? Mike Tomlin, as long as he's been the coach of the Steelers. He's never had a losing season. Never. Every year he goes 500 or above no matter. And he's had many a Kenny Pickett as a quarterback. He turns crappy players into salvageable players year after year. He's a really good coach. So they'll they'll be ready.

Eddie 00:36:23  The Steelers have never I know I know that in in folklore the Steelers and the Cowboys have this weird rivalry and it comes from.

Eddie 00:36:35  The Super Bowl. Yeah.

Eddie 00:36:37  I think it came back from those Super Bowls that we played. And then like the the good players on the teams back then were focused on you know Cowboys and Steelers. Yeah. But like I don't get up for this game very much like I.

Eddie 00:36:50  Don't I don't think there's I'm.

Prescott 00:36:52  Not like crazy excited for it.

Eddie 00:36:54  Yeah I mean.

Eddie 00:36:54  I've I've never really had. And that's what's weird is because there's a lot of people that I mean they'll travel from Pittsburgh for this game.

Eddie 00:37:00  They'll travel.

Eddie 00:37:01  They will.

Prescott 00:37:02  Pittsburgh people travel like cowboys. People travel.

Eddie 00:37:05  Yeah.

Eddie 00:37:07  It's going to be crazy. There's going to be a lot of yellow. But I am.

Prescott 00:37:09  Going to the I am going to the Detroit Lions game. Just so you know I'll be there.

Eddie 00:37:14  I heard that's what I heard.

Eddie 00:37:15  I'll be there.

Eddie 00:37:17  But I keep checking the mail for my ticket and it hasn't come up.

Prescott 00:37:22  Man, I couldn't send you a plane ticket. I can send you a plane ticket. I tell my wife. No, man. Eddie, gotta go with me, man. We gotta do some scouting for the pod.

Eddie 00:37:31  Oh, let's.

Eddie 00:37:32  Just do the pod at the game.

Eddie 00:37:35  We'll just do it on.

Eddie 00:37:36  Our on our on our iPhones.

Prescott 00:37:38  So, So. Well, who who scares you? On on Pittsburgh. Who should we be worried about?

Eddie 00:37:47  The.

Eddie 00:37:48  I just think that that team finds a way to win, you know, whether whether it be whether it be a, a running back that, you know, didn't have a good game last week.

Eddie 00:38:00  Then all of a sudden, you know, Patterson is going to fucking run the ball for 70 yards and beat us.

Eddie 00:38:05  Oh my.

Prescott 00:38:05  God, I.

Eddie 00:38:06  Hate it.

Eddie 00:38:06  Or is it going to be, you know, one of their random receivers that becomes an All-Pro every single time it's wow. It could be either one of those.

Prescott 00:38:15  What decides? You know what? I want to jump back into the Defensive Player of the year discussion. And I'm going to have four sacks on that.

Eddie 00:38:23  Oh, Joey.

Prescott 00:38:24  Porter.

Eddie 00:38:25  Junior.

Eddie 00:38:26  That is one thing that, I mean, he's grown up a lot. I don't know if you've seen him this year, but he he's pretty mouthy out there to the nowadays. Yeah.

Eddie 00:38:34  Yeah.

Eddie 00:38:34  So we'll see how he goes against KD. Said he's not going to if we can get pissed off KD.

Eddie 00:38:41  Yeah but I like to see.

Prescott 00:38:43  A lamb can move around so we don't even have to worry about.

Eddie 00:38:46  That. We'll see.

Eddie 00:38:47  We'll see how Florida does it.

Eddie 00:38:49  So what.

Prescott 00:38:50  What what's your score prediction.

Eddie 00:38:52  I was pretty close on the last one. If you didn't notice, what was the final score on the last one. It's 22.

Eddie 00:38:59  17, 15, 25, 20 to 15.

Eddie 00:39:02  I said, I said it was going to be 24, 21. And you're like, oh, it's going to be a it's going to be a low scoring game.

Prescott 00:39:08  And I thought it was gonna be like 3117. Yeah, I mean I said 3117. I think that was my prediction. Let's see what this game is going to be a low scoring game I think. You think so I say it would be 2117. I think we win this one 2117 2117.

Eddie 00:39:28  I'm I'm going to say I'm going to say 28, 2819 28 to 19. Can you score 19 points? Let me see. You can think of that. I'm going to say 18. I'm going to say 28 to 20. That's what we're going to win 2020.

Prescott 00:39:50  Yeah I'm going you know what? I'm going to lower it.

Prescott 00:39:54  I'm going to say 21 and I'm going to say 2413. We'll win 2413.

Eddie 00:40:00  I'm running back. You're going to score two touchdowns this weekend.

Eddie 00:40:02  Yeah.

Prescott 00:40:03  I don't think that fields is gonna destroy us like that.

Eddie 00:40:07  We're going to get three.

Prescott 00:40:08  Touchdown is ready.

Eddie 00:40:10  We're gonna get three touchdowns and three RB kicks. So that might be what is that 30.

Eddie 00:40:17  So that's minus almost 30.

Prescott 00:40:19  Yeah. So that's nine.

Eddie 00:40:20  And yeah.

Eddie 00:40:21  It'll be. So I'm going to say 30 to 20 30 to 21. That's what we're going to win.

Eddie 00:40:26  We're going to have Hines.

Prescott 00:40:26  Field winds blowing Miami can't be kicking 60 yard field goals in Heinz Field I don't think I think the longest one is like 54 or something like some some low because the winds are crazy in that stadium. The way, the the way it blows off the river.

Eddie 00:40:39  Three. And then it's like.

Prescott 00:40:41  A convection field in there. So like the winds blow crazy in there.

Eddie 00:40:46  We'll see.

Prescott 00:40:46  So we'll see.

Eddie 00:40:48  But I think I mean it's a three points of.

Prescott 00:40:50  Surprised if we lost. But I wouldn't be surprised if you want to me that This is a toss up, but because fields is in there, I gave us a better chance.

Eddie 00:41:01  Well, I think next week we should start talking about, if we are going to change coaches this year, I think we should come up with a handful of coaches that we would like to see us.

Eddie 00:41:13  We can do that.

Eddie 00:41:14  I don't think it's going to be during the year. I think it might be oh.

Eddie 00:41:17  No, I won't.

Prescott 00:41:18  It'll be out in a year unless. Unless Mike McCarthy wins the Super Bowl. This is last year. Even if he like even if he gets to the NFC Championship game, if he loses that game, I still think they bring in. If he gets.

Eddie 00:41:30  To the NFC Championship game with no running backs and one wide.

Eddie 00:41:34  Receiver.

Eddie 00:41:35  They should they.

Eddie 00:41:36  Should bring him back.

Eddie 00:41:37  They should buy him a whole neighborhood in Dallas and name it McCarthy.

Prescott 00:41:44  But Jerry won't do that.

Prescott 00:41:45  Jerry will want to bring in another old coach, Bill Belichick. Somebody weird, Pete Carroll. But I'm like, man, bringing a 32 year old Shanahan tree.

Eddie 00:41:58  Or Mike McVay first.

Eddie 00:42:00  Just saying. Hey, we just need to get, you know, give, give Jerry one of those P Diddy cocktails that he catches pneumonia from.

Prescott 00:42:08  Yeah, man. Like like. Like and then and then and then on that put him in the room and then rub every door handle with baby oil so he can't get out.

Eddie 00:42:17  The.
