And then it was fool's gold with the with the Browns because we did so well. So I think that we our players have a lot of the Dan Quinn mentality. Dan Quinn, he taught hero ball, he taught see ball, get ball, go make plays, go make turnovers, blah blah blah. Zimmer.
Prescott 00:11:34 He teaches a system. You play within the system and the and the turnovers in the big plays will come if you play within the system. He he lets people, you know, like Quinn used to let people be like a it was like a jazz, you know, you go off and do your own riffs and all that. But then Zimmer is more of an orchestra. You got to play your part like you can't go off script, you gotta do it. But it's still effective. And I think that that's what was killing us in the beginning of the season, where players were still the Dan Quinn mentality. Oh, the plays there, let's go do this. They were caught out of position doing stuff. Then I think in the last two games the one against the Giants, one against here where it seemed like man they did pretty good. Are we getting better or do these offenses suck? But when I looked at it I could tell these players were more. And then and then it it helps that our great players are injured because these players, they don't have the skill set to be great to go, you know, go off and do their own riffs on the guitar.

The only thing that I didn't like about Dan, you know, Dan's defense as DC's defense, was that what you're talking about is that it was it was really focused on turnovers and sacks and stats and like as a as a defensive line defense in hero ball. Well, I think of hero ball is I, I have to win the game like like like think of a like the a little league team. And there's that really good shortstop. He's a he plays hero ball because he's not going to let anybody around him touch the ball. He's going to be at third base. He's going to be making plays in the outfield. That's hero ball to me that that's when you say, hey, relax. You know let people around you do do their job too.
Eddie 00:13:29 Because if you're overextending yourself you're leaving your zones. But what I think Dq's, You know, his philosophy was turnover sacks, you know, pressure. It was all the little intricacies but all broken up. Whereas this defense now like you're saying, yes, it's a system and one person has one side of the rope and then the next person and so on and so on. So that if the 27th person falls down, we're all going to straighten the rope out. That's that's how this system works. And yeah, you were right. It took a little while for people to find it. But but there was other guys that took it took care of I mean they like were perfect for the system, right? Nealon was perfect for the system, man. He didn't because he didn't like. If you think about it, think about it. Have you ever heard a word from him? You've never heard him say anything? Nothing. He was very quiet. He just did his job. And that's what was required for him from that position.

Kendrick is a humongous. He's leading. He's leading as much as everybody loves over Sean Kendricks is leading the team right now in tackles. He's leading the team in in leadership. Basically everything that goes from Zimmerman goes through Kendricks to everybody on the field. So if we lose Kendricks for any amount of time, even if it's to rest for a little bit, there's two big ass running backs that are about to run over our fucking defense, man.
