Eddie 00:00:11  What's up? Ladies and gentlemen, we have, another week in the books. Another week closer to cowboy football, baby.

Prescott 00:00:20  Cowboy football. Yeah, man, we got all kind of hot breaking news out of OTAs, but all the real stuff happens. I don't know if y'all know this, but Eddie really likes OTAs. And when news comes out of OTAs.

Eddie 00:00:33  Oh, I just think let's let's have this discussion really like OTAs and like the rookie minicamp and everything. It's so exciting because I've because we've been just waiting for and all we have is like BBS news about things. So now when players come out, I understand you're excited, but I think of it as they're just blown up practices, that's all. I mean, they're just walkthroughs. So like when people are like, oh my God, you see that one year Thomas Start is is our starting free safety.

Eddie 00:01:04  Who's lined up? It's free safety one like it's because no pads have come on yet. There's no evaluation on any of these players yet.

Prescott 00:01:14  Well that's good.

Eddie 00:01:15  I don't I don't mean.

Prescott 00:01:16  No, man.

Eddie 00:01:17  I don't want to be a wet blanket on that. But if you're taking any news and going, oh wow, this is exciting. I swear to God, you're just the casual casualty casual fan ever.

Prescott 00:01:30  It's because Eddie's an old man yelling at the clouds, telling the kids to get off his lawn. That's what he is. Oh, but.

Eddie 00:01:36  Off my lawn.

Prescott 00:01:38  For us who care about this stuff. Let me just give you a couple of observations. Javonte Williams, he was one of the first running backs out there. Does that matter? No, but it's good to know that he doesn't have any lingering. Like, you got to read between the lines. That doesn't mean, you know, like me personally, when I look at that, I'm not like, oh, he's a starter running back.

Prescott 00:01:57  To me that means boom, he's ready to go. No restrictions? No. He might start on the list.

Eddie 00:02:02  Worry about it. Did you worry that he was at. He had restrictions.

Prescott 00:02:05  Well, he had. Hee hee hee hee. Might be. You never know. Like. Like you never know. Something pops up, like, why is he not playing? Oh, he has a hamstring. He's going to be out 4 to 6 weeks like you never know. So now you know that this guy is good to go.

Eddie 00:02:17  We don't play football until until August so it don't matter to me. I just know that the old.

Prescott 00:02:23  David Carr retired. He had he had a shoulder thing.

Eddie 00:02:27  The only thing that I think that we really let our that is kind of news breaking with these OTAs is Dak is actually running with the ones instead of on the.

Prescott 00:02:36  Yes he's there. Yeah. And so we know he's good to go. So yeah he does have good news. And then just like we anticipated the starting five Tyler Tyler Cooper Tyler and Terrence.

Prescott 00:02:49  That's how it's going to be.

Eddie 00:02:51  I wonder what the nickname for this this this line is going.

Prescott 00:02:53  To be guys.

Eddie 00:02:54  It's going to be good. I wonder if it's all TS.

Prescott 00:02:58  It's four T's in the sea, so we gotta come up with something like that.

Eddie 00:03:01  I'm wondering if they. If we wait until we actually have a right, a real right tackle, or if steel actually is going to step up.

Prescott 00:03:08  Steel is a real right tackle. He's really good. He just had a down year. He's really good. That's why he got a big contract. He really was good the year before he got a contract. He was legit.

Eddie 00:03:17  Oh yeah he was. He was pretty good that year before he got a contract.

Prescott 00:03:20  But then again he was playing next to, Martin when he was at the top of his game. So that had something to do with it. And then it, it, it might be a coincidence that Martin had a down year and so did steel. So maybe he still needs to play with somebody better than he.

Prescott 00:03:37  Like he can't have somebody worse than him playing. Next time. You need to have somebody better than him, I think. I guess that's everybody in the NFL. Well, plays better when they have somebody better than them.

Eddie 00:03:46  Offensive line is different though, because they are connected. You know, everything that the left or the right guard is doing. The right tackle has to know what the right guard is doing because the steps are just there all.

Prescott 00:03:57  And sometimes I think that that synchronicity, if that's a word, is good. Kind of like like I always think in terms of basketball. Like there's some people like when, Chris Paul played with, Blake Griffin. Like, they just had a sixth sense around the rim. Chris Paul threw it up and he would dunk it. Yeah. Lob city. They they just had had that connection. And I think certain offensive linemen had that connection when they played alongside each other.

Eddie 00:04:28  You know I got the the pleasure of actually watching one of what one of our offensive line coaches when I was in college because I played running back and I was hurt, so I was out.

Eddie 00:04:40  So I actually was helping the coaches, the offensive line. I used to think, okay, offensive line, they get told where to block somebody, right? You're going to block this guy. The holes coming here, try to get him out of this, out of the way that that I mean that that's like. That's like elementary shit. Like back. Like in high school and college. They start teaching them footwork. And it's like a it's literally like a dance. Like the if they, if they're if they're footwork is not right, they're not in the right position, the right angle to make the rock. It's just it's crazy to me. And it really is designed. It's a designed fucking dance. It's not just up them up. They're beating each other up. So it I really, you know, this this week or you know, with, with them being all together. It's just about building that that thing that all, all offensive lines have right. That rapport. You know, I got.

Prescott 00:05:39  You and I.

Eddie 00:05:40  Heard that.

Prescott 00:05:40  Back. Yeah. And that's why like whenever they have a, a really good offensive lineman, they always call him a dancing bear because he's just like a huge human. But he has real fancy feet. Like he can move it like it's, it's it's pretty good.

Eddie 00:05:55  They could think of Tyrone Tyron Smith right? Like he was like £345 of sculpted ass muscles.

Prescott 00:06:01  That you made. Made him in a lab somewhere.

Eddie 00:06:04  I mean, you would think that you always think of offensive linemen with the big gut and the big. Because, I mean, when offensive,

Prescott 00:06:10  Larry Allen was a fat guy.

Eddie 00:06:12  And when, when when.

Prescott 00:06:13  Nate Newton was too.

Eddie 00:06:15  Scouts. Will will name things off. you know, they want to have a shelf. They look at the the offensive linemen ass. If it's big, then they know that the you know and like it's just there's a whole lot of things that people that scouts look into. When you looked at Tyrone. They must have been like, Holy shit, the holy crap.

Eddie 00:06:36  This guy's a bodybuilder. He's not.

Prescott 00:06:39  He's insane.

Eddie 00:06:39  He doesn't have any fat on his body. But that's true.

Prescott 00:06:42  All right. So I think we'll be really want to talk about is this schedule. We gotta give our official. Do you have a schedule? Well, I mean, I got it pulled up.

That was kind of cool. I really I enjoyed watching that. That was this.

Prescott 00:08:48  I think about all of them. What's his name had Goodwin the Chargers there's all all good like they, they, they have a top notch social media team. But to me, the best one was when they got it's like, hey, just, just get A.I. to do it. And, and the old coach and the old coach was like, alright. So he called Allen Iverson to get it because he didn't understand. I was like, man, that that was the best one.

Eddie 00:09:12  All the players are like, Why is Allen Iverson doing that? He's like, you told me I had to do it.

Eddie 00:09:17  Yeah. And, and.

Prescott 00:09:18  And I was like, okay, that was it. It was Buffalo. I'm just mad that Philadelphia didn't do it. Man. The Eagles should have done that. That would have been better because he's from there. But I'm glad they didn't because the Eagles suck.

Prescott 00:10:28  Yep. Gotta pay some bills.

Eddie 00:10:30  Yeah okay. Throw the throw the two. Throw. Throw the Super Bowl winner and the the team that makes us the most money right now.

Prescott 00:10:38  I'm telling you, man. Any other any other third place team that finished third place in their division with a losing record didn't make the playoffs. Not even getting considered for week one. Like it's not even a thought. Like they're not even like, hey, what about whoever from the NFC South. That was third place that they don't even consider them but us. It was like a no brainer.

Eddie 00:10:58  Yeah, the Cowboys sucks so much. And Dak is such a terrible quarterback that we have like like six primetime games or four for Thursday night games and like six primetime games. You know who doesn't.

Eddie 00:11:11  You know there's a team that doesn't have one primetime game. The Saints don't have one primetime game the whole season.

Prescott 00:11:18  And they shouldn't they should not have any I know they shouldn't have any. Good Lord.

Eddie 00:11:23  Give.

Prescott 00:11:23  Me a the Panthers shouldn't have any primetime games either.

Eddie 00:11:26  But yeah. Yeah, well.

Prescott 00:11:28  But, I was gonna say something that's just.

Eddie 00:11:30  So are we gonna are we gonna go? Do you want to just go through the games real quick, and then we can go through, what we think are we want to do now?

Prescott 00:11:37  Just go one at a time. Right now, everybody's seen this schedule by now, so it's no big secret. We would if we were unveiling the schedule. I'd do that, but everybody's seen it by now.

Eddie 00:11:46  All right.

Prescott 00:11:51  I think we lose this one. So I'm going to do mine and and and and and you do yours.

Eddie 00:11:59  I know I agree, I think, I think we lose because because it's, it's the first game.

Eddie 00:12:06  It's I mean, I'm sure that we'll get everybody playing a little bit in the preseason, but there's one last preseason game. you know, we don't want to tire out the starters. I don't think we'll play a lot, injuries and everything. Week one's going to be an unveiling of everything. And then we got to do it against one of the best teams in the league. Yeah, it's going to be tough.

Prescott 00:12:27  But you know what's crazy? I think we we lose, but not by much. Like, I wouldn't be surprised if they kicked the field goal at the end to win the game type win. I'm not I'm not counting them to beat us by like ten. Yeah. 14 points. I think we barely lose this game, but we show some things that we hadn't seen last year. But I just think that right now the Eagles just have a more cohesive, better unit coming off. You know the same you know basically the same players don't. The only way I think we lose if the Eagles suffer some kind of major injury like Jalen Carter or AJ Brown or Saquon is out for this game.

Prescott 00:13:08  Then then I'll be like, oh yeah, we can win this game. But I wouldn't be surprised. I'd give it a 5050. I wouldn't be surprised if we won. But I think we lose this game.

Eddie 00:13:17  You know, I think I want to come back and revisit this after the these meetings end. because they are they are talking about the push again and they vote. They're going to vote on it tomorrow.

Prescott 00:13:31  The the the the all the stuff I've been reading says that they won't ban the tush push. They're just going to ban the stuff that makes it good. So that so they're going to ban like you can't push or pull a player with it.

Eddie 00:13:45  The verbiage is yeah, you cannot push or pull a player on any part of the field anywhere, whether you're on offense or defense. So that's going to eliminate the touch push. It's going to eliminate.

Prescott 00:13:57  You know yeah when I'm running. Yeah. When I run it back get stopped. And then and then a run. And then a offensive lineman comes behind him and pushes the pile for like another three yards.

Eddie 00:14:06  No, the the the one. Where was it. Deuce or who was it that got pulled in by Tyler this last. Was it last year or the year before last?

Prescott 00:14:14  I think it.

Eddie 00:14:15  Was a deuce. I think it was deuce that got pulled in by Tyler and it was like, oh, what is that? We're like, hey, blah, blah, blah. But yeah, I think what they're going to do is they're just going to they're they're saying, okay, hey, we're not, you know, Philadelphia Eagles and everybody. Like you can't penalize the best team in the league or the blah blah blah. They're like, okay, fine. You guys can keep your play. You just can't push people anywhere on our field.

Prescott 00:14:38  So it's just going to be a regular a regular quarterback sneak so he can run behind the offensive linemen. But the running, like the two running backs that they usually have, can't push him at the same time that that'll be the the rule. So it's just.

Eddie 00:14:52  Regular. So if we revisit this, if the push push wasn't involved, you still think the Eagles win?

Prescott 00:14:59  I really don't because man I looked at the stat and I think they said 60% of Jalen Hurts rushing touchdowns or tush pushes. Yeah 60%. He has a lot of them.

Eddie 00:15:09  How many of these steal from.

Prescott 00:15:11  That's six out of ten. So like that's 12 out of his 20 touchdowns. That wouldn't count because it's crazy. We'll see. We'll see.

Eddie 00:15:20  Anyway, little £600 squad. All right.

I would have to think about it and dig deep to find the last time we lost to the Giants, where it's like where, you know, not not the last game of the season type lost. Like where we actually lost to the Giants when we were playing well, like they're outliers, but I can't remember the time we lost to the Giants.

Prescott 00:15:58  Like for real.

Eddie 00:15:59  I'll never forget opening night of the of our new of AT&T Stadium.

Prescott 00:16:04  Oh man, that still burns me up. And he signed the wall. Signed the wall. And then he left it there. Jerry Jones left it there. He said he wanted people to remember.

Eddie 00:16:14  Yeah.

Prescott 00:16:15  And then but I got this as a win.

Eddie 00:16:17  Yeah I got it as a win too. So right now we're one on one one on one going into week three at Chicago flying in.

Prescott 00:16:25  I say we win this. We city we win this one. It's the revenge game.

Eddie 00:16:31  This is a revenge game. Plus it's also you know we we have that connection with the Lions offensive coordinator that moved over to coach the bears. Oh yeah. We want to beat his ass. Right. Because it doesn't have anything to do with our cowboys. He wanted to. So we want to show him. And I think this is this is the week that we really start getting into gear. I feel.

Prescott 00:17:33  Pick number 13, by the way, in case people didn't know, he picked number 13. So we're going to he's going to look like a jacked up, Michael Gallup. Yeah.

Eddie 00:17:43  Yeah, I think I, I totally forgot him on Michael Gallup until somebody told me about it today, so I wouldn't even.

Prescott 00:17:48  Know he's still out there. He said he's coming out of retirement. He's still out there.

Eddie 00:17:52  Yeah. Him and Jaylen over in on the Raiders. So retired Cowboys lineup that the Raiders like pull up.

Prescott 00:18:00  And don't forget Chip Kelly plays for the he's on the bears. Oh offensive team like coaching staff too. They they got him. They got him on there. Yeah he's with the Ben Johnson though. So those are two mad geniuses. So we can expect some interesting stuff. But I think it's different when you're a OC and you're a genius OC. And you got to switch over to head coaching.

Eddie 00:18:22  Yeah.

Prescott 00:18:24  So so I got us. So I got us a win with that one. Yeah. Green Bay I think we win this one. I think that we break the curse. We're tired of losing the green Bay and we're like, you know what? This is the start of something special right here. And we beat green Bay.

Eddie 00:18:42  Yeah, I think it is just the momentum of the last two wins, just continuing and picking up.

Eddie 00:18:51  It's not at green Bay. It's at Dallas. Last time we played green Bay in Dallas, we got our asses handed to us. Yeah. That was.

Prescott 00:18:58  That's what I'm saying.

Eddie 00:18:59  We remember that was the disappearing dick game. That was the.

Prescott 00:19:04  Man.

Eddie 00:19:05  Let me let me go ahead and let you know what? Change everything. Everything that's worked this year. Change it.

Prescott 00:19:12  So Jerry needs to get some some shirts made or terrible towels made that that say we remember on there. They remember that playoff game. Oh, yeah.

Eddie 00:19:23  And then, so I, I think we're going to win that game. I think the momentum, from the last two games is going to take us right into, what we need to do. And then, week five, we pack up our shit when we fly up to, New York.

Prescott 00:19:41  So I thought about this game long and hard. So My first initial was we're going to win this game, but I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan. I've known these guys for going on 30 years now, 33 years now, and we always lose a game every year that we're not supposed to lose.

Prescott 00:20:04  Whether it was the Arizona Cardinals, you know, some or the or the Saints against you know, the game where we weren't supposed to lose, we would lose this game. And this is the game. I looked at the schedule and said it would be the game that we would lose. It's a noon game against the Jets and it's a new coaching staff. It's not the the the bad news Jets that we're used to. And I think we actually lose this one.

Eddie 00:20:30  Well, this is this I think I disagree with you on this particular, but I do agree that, you know, there are there's going to be one, 1 or 2 games where we're supposed to win and we don't. We always do that. Every year I picked another team. I didn't pick the Jets I think we're going to handle the Jets because. And, I don't feel like there's there's going to be real good symmetry with that offense the way that it's it's set up, especially with a new quarterback coming in that isn't doesn't have the best, history of being able to stay in the pocket and hitting receivers.

Prescott 00:21:09  Oh, he's so bad, Justin Fields. That's why I thought long and hard about it.

Eddie 00:21:13  I mean, with the receivers that he does that he does have on the Jets are stacked at receiver. They are.

Prescott 00:21:20  They just don't have nobody.

Eddie 00:21:21  Going to need. They're going to need. Yeah. They're going to need to be able to react to to balls being all over the place to be erratic.

Prescott 00:21:28  I just don't understand how they go into the season saying, yeah, Justin Fields, he's going to take us there like that was the coach is no way I'm saying that.

Eddie 00:21:35  He spent a lot.

Prescott 00:21:36  Of money that way. They did. Like it's it's insane. But anyway so next game I definitely.

Eddie 00:21:43  Think we win. Yeah. Carolina.

Prescott 00:21:45  No. No, no. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I guess, Caroline, I thought you meant the jet. So. Yeah, I got a win against Carolina.

And it paid off because by the end of the season, he was doing well and it was a lot of quarterback injuries. We had super flex, so I got to trade him for a first round pick. So I believed in him.
