Intro 00:00:06  Here we go. Here I come. Here we go. Here I come. Here we go. Yeah. Yeah. When I fall through a lot. Do not like. How you're walking with a lion. Got me feelin like Mike I've been known to wear the team on my back like a biker. Shawty wanna be with a star. But you lucky if I invite you. We can take it to the next spot. They yellin like red sky. Everybody like there ain't no brakes, no rest stop. We tryna get your head chopped. The whole club yellin everybody.

Prescott 00:00:36  Here we go, here we go. Victory Formation podcast I am Prescott, that is your boy Eddie. Eddie, say what's up to the people.

Eddie 00:00:45  What's up ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another podcast. another week of Cowboys football on a Victory Formation.

Prescott 00:00:55  Yeah it is. We got some NFL news. Cowboys news. Tell you what, we think we're going to try and keep our hot takes to a minimum. Even though we know that'll that'll get y'all engaged in some dumb conversation.

Prescott 00:01:07  But you know what? We're going to be above that. We're not going to do that. We're not going to do that. We're going to keep it real on here.

Eddie 00:01:13  I like to say my my lukewarm room temp takes out every once in a while and they're not so hot. They're just kind of like, whoa.

Prescott 00:01:25  I got a hot take.

Eddie 00:01:26  They're like, somebody's been sitting on them for a little bit. That that one. Yeah, yeah.

Prescott 00:01:30  Oh, yeah. Yeah. Just a little bit warm to the touch. I gotcha. Yeah. I mean, I got a scorching hot schedule. This might be the best quarterback in the NFL. He said those stats. He's putting up an OTA. That's like Hall of Fame numbers, man.

Eddie 00:01:44  He is. He can't believe he is going to get his OTA number retired. I think at the end of the year they're probably gonna retire the number I put in.

Prescott 00:01:55  Put it put it in the Browns ring of honor man. Those OTA numbers are really, really hard to beat.

Eddie 00:02:02  These are.

Prescott 00:02:04  Really hard to beat.

Eddie 00:02:06  So we're gonna try this little do, a little 60s. what's going on around the NFL? this week? have you heard? Really? Really. Any news? Anything going on this week?

Prescott 00:02:18  I'd say. I mean, it was a couple things that, you know, they put it in the news because they, they they, they need something to do when it comes to legit football news, I would say the, the, the two biggest things is Jalen Ramsey. He's the biggest name look like it's going to move. Yeah. And so like he's hot in the trade talks.

Eddie 00:02:41  I mean.

Prescott 00:02:42  But.

Eddie 00:02:43  He's removing stuff from Twitter and he's from like Instagram. He's like in that that we're we're all going to be a Dallas Cowboys if you don't pay me kind of thing. Right.

Prescott 00:02:55  Exactly. And so And I saw that. Hee hee hee. Just bought a house in Fort Worth. So that means. That means he's coming to us. Yeah.

Prescott 00:03:04  That's a I think, Clarence, I want to say Clarence Hill reported that I wanted one of the cowboy beat writers, that he just bought a house, but they said last year the same thing was reported about Derrick Henry, which he did just buy a house in Dallas, but he never did sign with us, so.

Eddie 00:03:19  Yeah, well, Clarence tries a lot, Clarence tries hard. But, all the things that happened in the NFL, we got, your boys, Stefon Diggs out on the boat. Oh, man. In New England. Right. Or where it should be in Foxborough.

Prescott 00:03:35  Is in New England. Yeah. He's he made he got on the he made Mike Vrabel. Yeah man. He made Mike Vrabel have to come and and and respond to all of this. Because he was on the boat with me. He's on the boat with the hose. And but when I had some white powder it wasn't even white. It was pink. I guess that's a new fad. Now.

Eddie 00:03:53  My, you know, my my thing is, I heard that. I mean, his girl was on the boat, like his girlfriend was on the boat. And he was with those other girls with the with the pink powder.

Prescott 00:04:03  I think it was those things. I don't know if y'all remember, but it used to be this little pouch he used to have, and it was powder. And then it would be a white stick of candy. Oh, you mean you had to dip it? Yeah, you had to dip it in the powder. You could either eat the candy with it. I'm pretty sure that's what it was, because that stuff never goes out of style. I don't think it was real good, man.

Eddie 00:04:22  But you can share it with, like, somebody, like. Yeah. Like, what are you going to say, man? Get out of.

Prescott 00:04:28  Here. I know, man like, ain't got poor in their hand. And the.

Eddie 00:04:35  Guy's a dipstick.

Prescott 00:04:37  So, so that was some, some some real NFL news.

Prescott 00:04:40  Mike Vrabel had to do a press conference about it. We're you know here is the standard. We're looking into it. We'll we'll handle it as a team blah blah blah. So that's what they're going to do. But he's he's definitely getting drug tested.

Eddie 00:04:53  Oh yeah. Yeah I believe he's probably going to have somebody ask him to step out of the room for a second.

Prescott 00:05:01  Hey, come on, let's go pee. Yeah, let's go pee.

Eddie 00:05:05  So, I mean, you know what?

Prescott 00:05:08  Yeah, but. But there's one thing I found interesting. it's a a rookie. His name is, Shemar Stewart with the Bengals. He's the only first rounder still holding out.

Eddie 00:05:20  He has been. Yeah. Right. Because their other defensive end that they should have signed a long time ago. Told them not to.

Prescott 00:05:29  Yeah.

Eddie 00:05:30  So it's like they drafted this guy to replace him because they didn't want to pay this guy this money. Now they're both holding out perfect.

Prescott 00:05:39  Hendrickson. It's like Hendrickson got to him.

Prescott 00:05:41  It's like, hey, I'm holding out. You holding out? I'm like, okay.

Eddie 00:05:47  Hold my bag, Rick. We're going to hold out together. Jump in.

Prescott 00:05:51  Here it is. Back in the day, these rookie contract holdouts were normal, especially the number like one, 2 or 3 pick. They they always held out, always held out. But now it's it's kind of moot because of the the rookie scale. Like everybody gets paid. Like you don't even need a lot of these rookies don't even sign agents like agents won't even will tell them like, hey, it's a rookie scale. I'll, I'll I'll handle this contract for free if you let me handle your next contract, like, that's that's like the thing they give them.

Eddie 00:06:20  Now, there's a lot of not there's not negotiating like the pay. I think they're negotiating. Like all the little things that go into the contract, they're like.

Prescott 00:06:29  Small, small little things.

Eddie 00:06:32  yeah.

Prescott 00:06:34  And some of them want.

Eddie 00:06:35  To like a lot of teams put things like that because of liabilities in the contracts.

Eddie 00:06:40  Right. Like we don't want you to be around. We don't want you to be here. these things, we we don't want you to ride this motorcycle kind of thing, like. Yeah, it's their their contract. Contract talks. And if you don't like it, you know you're you're a rookie. You got to I think that you got to sign a rookie deal and then prove it. And then you can have have an opinion about what won.

Prescott 00:07:05  One thing, that one thing I heard is a lot more rookies are trying to push to get their first round, their first contract fully guaranteed as a first round pick. So I know that's the sticking point. Not all of them get fully guaranteed. So some people in the top ten get fully guaranteed, but not all of them. Like it's this one guy this year he just got fully guaranteed. I can't remember his name.

Eddie 00:07:27  It was the. It was the guy that got picked in the second round. That's, Who was that? I think he was the receiver because I read about it.

Eddie 00:07:38  You know, fully, fully guaranteed.

Prescott 00:07:39  his name? Yeah.

Prescott 00:07:40  Jayden Higgins.

Prescott 00:07:41  Yeah.

Prescott 00:07:42  Jayden Higgins, second pick of the second round. The first fully guaranteed contract ever for a second round pick. Little stuff like that.

Eddie 00:07:50  You know what I was thinking about the other day? do you remember who the last pick was in the first round that had that full, fully guaranteed contract that could go like, there wasn't any,

Prescott 00:08:07  What's the guy who played for the Rams? Yeah.

Eddie 00:08:11  Yeah. No. And now I know he played for the Lions and does play for the Rams now.

Prescott 00:08:20  Was it. Was it Stafford. Yep. Yeah I knew it was a Rams quarterback.

Eddie 00:08:25  Stafford is 60 like 65 or $67 million. And that's.

Prescott 00:08:31  When.

Eddie 00:08:31  The first round.

Prescott 00:08:31  Went down. Yeah.

Eddie 00:08:33  I'm not sure it went down to like 23. It was like a huge

Prescott 00:08:38  He got the last ridiculous contract when, when they, they used to be mad that these rookies were coming in making more than ten year veterans who had two Pro Bowls under their belt.

Eddie 00:08:48  Tripping on cheddar all over the place. All right. So let's let's let's move. Let's move on because we're getting. Let's let's get into a little bit of cowboy news. Because there was a little bit of cowboy news with our information. You know, picking him out, picking the number 13. Everybody's kind of like chiming in. Do I like it? I think, I think he'll wear 13 because the poll was not going anywhere. He's not going to give up one. And and Belle is not giving up 14 either.

Prescott 00:09:22  So unless they release Bell.

Eddie 00:09:25  Like 13, I'm not going to release Bell. They just they just resign them. They're going to release. No, no I know you don't like that. I know it's controversial, but I really believe they're going to release Donna.

Prescott 00:09:36  That's a scorching hot take right there.

Eddie 00:09:38  They're going to say like $88.9 million this year by doing that. That's a yeah, a lot of money.

Prescott 00:09:46  Between him and him and Donovan Wilson.

Eddie 00:09:49  That's what I'm talking about.

Eddie 00:09:50  I said don't. Don't don't, don't. Wilson.

Prescott 00:09:52  Okay. I'm sorry. I thought you said Bill.

Eddie 00:09:55  No no no no no no, I said they're gonna. No, they already resigned, bill. They. They can't. They gave them more money. So they. I think. Donovan Wilson is he's going to be released. And I was thinking almost $9 million savings for a man.

Prescott 00:10:11  He. He's not long for the Cowboys.

Eddie 00:10:14  He's long for the tooth already, but, the, I read a little bit about, the running back room and kind of what's been standing out. You know, it's a it's a big deal, right? You know, we're we're all looking for who's going to take the lead right now, or are we going to bring somebody else in? What what do we have? You know? and I, I don't know if you've heard too much about it, but I read a little bit about Javonte Williams and how he's kind of taking a, like, a leadership role and a step up like, I'm going to be first in all these drills.

Eddie 00:10:50  And he's hitting he's he's hitting all the marks that that show he's back from that injury. He's ready. He's ready to give us everything he's got. And we haven't seen a really healthy drop in in a couple of years.

Prescott 00:11:05  So what I'm calling I'm calling it right now if he doesn't get hurt or injured somehow, like, you know, they just have to like the hamstring or. Oh, he tweaked his knee. Now he hasn't missed a week or two of practice. If he doesn't have anything like that and he goes through, he he goes through OTAs, goes through training camp and gets to the first preseason game. He'll be our starting running back and a lot of people writing off Miles Sanders. And. But I think he's going to have a role like he he's legit like he's a veteran unless he's just lost a step. If he's still like he didn't play that much because Chuba Hubbard stepped up. But I think like like like with Pickens. Pickens him, Javonte those guys are like man this is my last chance to even get a contract.

Prescott 00:11:47  I gotta play my butt off this year. So they're motivated.

Eddie 00:11:52  It's almost like they have a couple of the same guys on the team. Like, yeah, Miles Sanders to me is that he could play on second. He's definitely a third down back. He's he's going to catch. He's going to run. He's going to create a mismatch with a linebacker, which I believe. Reason why we got blue right. Because that's what blue does. That is his game. So I mean Miles Sanders is going to have to show that I need to I deserve a couple of those snaps. I deserve a couple of those third downs. And then he's really going to have to show out. And special teams. That's probably where he's going to be the biggest.

Prescott 00:12:30  Yeah. Because because blue literally can can spell Turpin when need be. Miles Sanders might be one of those. And I'm too old to be playing special teams. Get that to the young guys type type guys. So I don't know.

Eddie 00:12:43  The guys that are trying to stay in the league.

Eddie 00:12:45  You got to play a little bit, but.

Prescott 00:12:46  You got to. And and but the one thing that might put Sanders above blue is what happens when it's third down blitz pickup. Because remember they they they they wanted to but they couldn't put Deuce Vaughn in that third down role because he would just get blown up on like they were just like oh he's in automatically blitz like that. That's it. Like he can stop anybody. So it's like, can you stop that third down blitz? Can you pick up that blitzing linebacker? They don't send cornerbacks when they send big linebackers. Like what you gonna do when when Warner is coming down the pipe like oh I'm going to step.

Prescott 00:13:23  On his ankle. What are you going to do.

Eddie 00:13:25  When you got a defensive end from Pittsburgh coming around the corner? And you really have to step up and put your nose on his on his face mask, there's no way. There's no way. Yeah, you're right. I trust that 100%.

Prescott 00:13:39  Yeah. But I think it's it's it's going to be I think we'll have four running backs.

Prescott 00:13:43  Javonte Miles Sanders of the two. Martha and blue. I think those will be all four running backs, and I think they keep Lipski only because he actually can play tight end in a pinch. So like they can they can they they can say he's a tight end for like roster purposes. And really he's a running back type type thing and he can block. So I think that that is what it's going to look like. I think Malik Davis is done. Sorry to hear it.

Eddie 00:14:11  Oh yeah Malik. I mean I think he's going to be I think he's going to be on a practice squad again. Right.

Prescott 00:14:17  And he's.

Prescott 00:14:18  Done. Yeah. That's these guys.

Prescott 00:14:22  Weren't.

Prescott 00:14:22  The these aren't their guys like this coaching staff didn't draft those guys. So so they're not holding to him like you know like a mike McCarthy like well I drafted Duce Von. That's my baby. I'm watching him grow up. Like, man Clayton Adams like, don't.

Prescott 00:14:37  Give a damn. And then you go and let me go in.

Eddie 00:14:39  And then you go into the break room and that's. And then they're, eating those mac and cheese.

Prescott 00:14:43  Yeah.

Prescott 00:14:43  Like like.

Prescott 00:14:44  Hey.

Prescott 00:14:45  So what's up?

Prescott 00:14:46  It's like, hey, what'd you say? Hey, who's over there? I gotta go, I gotta go. Phone's ringing. The phone's ringing.

Eddie 00:14:55  No, but,

Prescott 00:14:55  So,

Eddie 00:14:56  So moving on to, some more news and OTAs. I read a little bit about.

Prescott 00:15:02  How.

Eddie 00:15:03  Land has been shelling out lands. You know, our cornerbacks are out there. you know, elite is alum or alien, from Buffalo.

Prescott 00:15:11  I don't know, I think it's Elam. Elam?

Prescott 00:15:13  Yeah. Liam.

Eddie 00:15:15  what I've read is that he's working his butt off and, like, being a change of scenery might be what he needed. you know, new, new coach, new new team, new area. and he was a first round draft pick. I mean, he could be bringing a lot to the table.

Prescott 00:15:32  Yeah.

Eddie 00:15:33  Yeah. So he's been playing a majority of the boundary.

Eddie 00:15:37  so they've been moving blend in to play a lot of the, slot.

Prescott 00:15:43  Slot?

Prescott 00:15:44  Oh, he doesn't like that. He he does not like that.

Eddie 00:15:47  He doesn't like it too much because, I mean, and I and I've heard quarterback say moving from the boundary to the slot is really hard because you don't have you think that you think you're on an island out there. You have the you have the the out of bounds as another defender. When you're inside, you're not only you're not only on an island by yourself, but you also have people coming at you from all directions, right? These, you know, they're trying to pick you, they're trying to block you. They're trying to run underneath you and rub you. It's I think that's tough. And I mean, but we might need, you know, we might need to put out our Jordan Lewis, you know, Batman signal and pull somebody out and be like, hey, you need to Jordan Lewis for us this year, you know?

Prescott 00:16:35  But I don't understand.

Prescott 00:16:36  I don't understand why this is even an issue, considering this is not even like going to be starting the season like Blaine should have that other spot. I think unless rebel is just a superstar.

Eddie 00:16:48  Yeah, I think maybe they might be doing it for later on. I mean, because you're going to have your if you're going to put the best players on the field and revel is really good and Diggs is feeling better and you know, maybe maybe Carson is actually really good. You you're going to need to play something on that team. You're going to play on the inside or you're going to play on the outside. Somebody else. You know, you just need to be valuable, be valuable to the team and no other positions, basically.

Prescott 00:17:19  Because if everyone's good, then it's Diggs, bland, Elam, Elam, whatever his name is. And, rebel. I think those are the top four. And then coming in the second tier is going to be, Carson. And then the, the, the also rans like the the guys who were there last year who I, I bet they.

Eddie 00:17:42  We also got two guys remember remember Butler and Hall like Butler. That's right. Yeah. But he was a preseason pretty good man.

Prescott 00:17:50  Yeah I thought he was. I was like, man, he's going to make the Pro Bowl this year.

Eddie 00:17:54  And then and then, is it Kareem or. I forgot what his first name is, but the last name is Hall. he he was he was a great pickup, too. so he's nothing to to to. Sorry. No, no, but I, I, I just don't see enough room on the roster to keep everybody when we're going to keep so many linemen and we've got. Yeah. You know how what are we going to do. It's just a lot of demands.

Prescott 00:18:24  So you still have. And we also still have, What's his face? Andrew Booth. He's still on the team.

Eddie 00:18:31  Yeah. Booth, I heard that we we we signed him or something. Yeah, we we got Booth.

Prescott 00:18:35  And you forgot the goat, man. You forgot to go.

Prescott 00:18:38  Let's go. C.J. Goodwin, man. He's the best cornerback we got.

Eddie 00:18:43  He's like, he's just. Just run. Run.

Prescott 00:18:49  He's a good one. Don't. Don't listen to him. CJ Goodman, you're nearing. You're near and dear to my heart. Number one, you're number one in my heart.

Eddie 00:18:59  Lord have mercy.

Prescott 00:19:00  Alright.

Eddie 00:19:01  So the news that I heard that was. This is the first time that I've heard this. And I could I can understand it because from what we knew about how we played last year was, Milton. Milton had been getting some snaps. Right? Gotta get him in there. Gotta get him running with some some of the players. But he's having trouble making reads is what this this writer was talking about and which was which was making him scramble. Right. So. And the and these and these notes he has we want to see these quarterbacks making reads. It's not. Don't be perfect. We want to see you make mistakes so that you know you can be coached and you can learn.

Eddie 00:19:43  That's really the only way to learn, right? But if you're going to pull the ball down every single time and just take off, you know that we we don't. We need somebody that can sit in the pocket a little bit, can move, can make some reads. So I'm sure the coaches are all on top of this. But I mean, what do you think.

Prescott 00:20:04  They they must have heard you or saw that writer because, Patrick. No. See, Walker, he literally put out an article today specifically about Milton and how all the praise that Schottenheimer was giving him. Yeah. his exact name. Yeah. He's, like, so excited about Joe. I was excited about Joe before we got him. We all reach out to people that you know, people that you trust, people that have been exposed to play in college and different programs from the time he's been here to work ethic is incredible. Now he talks about how he throws or oh, he has to make these throws or he's throws a beautiful he's just talking about his work ethics, his, you know, athleticism, stuff like that.

Prescott 00:20:43  So I don't know if that's coach speak, but he literally just just wrote this today. So there's something that came out around noon today.

Eddie 00:20:52  I think two thoughts about that I think shady is a good coach. He's a good leader and he knows when to speak up and say, hey, I say the right thing when you're having a bad day. You go, hey, if somebody comes up behind you. But hey, Prescott, even though you didn't get that shit done today, you're still fucking part of this team. And I love that you're part of this team. That's all you got to say. And sometimes that'll, you know, somebody will be like, oh, wow, that motivated me to come back tomorrow and be better. Or was it somebody in the background saying, all right, now I need you to get out and I need you to kind of save face a little bit and just say, hey, you know, even though you, you know, say something nice about it, get out there and say something good.

Eddie 00:21:34  Yeah, I don't know.

Prescott 00:21:36  Because even if you're a superstar, you you had a a coach. An assistant coach that just didn't believe in you, that thought you were just all hype or he's not doing it right. He doesn't know what he's doing. And you can tell by the way they talk to you that they have to put up with you. So they're talking to you that they'll put up with you. They really don't want you to be here. And most players know when their coach is blowing smoke or when they're saying this stuff because, man, they might actually see something in me. And I'm hoping that shot a shot shot is coming across as one of those like, hey, you might not be the best at diagnosing plays and timing throws, but I see something in you where you can help this team, which could be the truth. You're not the best. You're not the the the what we absolutely need. But you still can help us. I'm going to put you in a position to win.

Prescott 00:22:25  And as a player, you can appreciate that. Yeah.

Eddie 00:22:29  On the other side. I 100% agree That those are the kind of coaches that you know, as a parent. You go up to them afterwards and you're like, I appreciate all the time that you spent with my kid. I mean, even though he wasn't the best of this evening, like he learned something from you and I, he'll never forget, you know, the times that he spent with you. And they're all. They're in all levels. They're in all levels. But. Oh, so. And then the next time we talked about secondary, but the next thing that I kind of wanted to talk about was a picture that a lot of us saw this week of one of our freeagent defensive linemen that we picked up.

Prescott 00:23:12  Oh, man, Dana Daniels.

Eddie 00:23:15  Did anybody see. Yeah. There you see a picture of Solomon Thomas when he was working out? I mean, he was a yo, I don't know if you can find it on here.

Prescott 00:23:25  He looked like he looked like Wolverine.

Eddie 00:23:28  Let's see. Looks.

Prescott 00:23:31  Like we we think that, Stefon Diggs is getting drug tested because of the pink cocaine. Solomon Thomas is definitely getting drug tested. Looking like.

Eddie 00:23:45  Somebody said somebody said that he looked like. And I don't know how many people remember this, but, they, you guys remember street charts? Do you remember?

Prescott 00:23:59  I remember, I remember.

Eddie 00:24:02  Well, they were a it was a.

Prescott 00:24:04  Swole man. They were swole.

Eddie 00:24:06  You know. They were. And they were here. Here, let me let me show you this.

Prescott 00:24:10  There were.

Eddie 00:24:11  Sharks on.

Prescott 00:24:11  Steroids.

Eddie 00:24:14  Here it is. This is the one thing.

Prescott 00:24:16  Solomon. Thomas. One of the things Solomon Thomas did say that since has gotten here, he's been mistaken for Dak Prescott a lot. I think that's why he he got ripped because one thing Dak is not. He's thick. He's built like a tree. But he's not real. He doesn't have muscles upon muscles. I think that's why Solomon Thomas decided to to look like that.

Prescott 00:24:35  So? So they could tell him in that apart.

Eddie 00:24:38  I did see that interview, and he was like, you know, how many, how many times do I get stopped and be like, Jack? And he's like, I, he's like, I'm, I'm, I'm almost getting to the point where I'm, I feel bad disappointing these, these kids because they, you know, they're, they're excited to see them. And I just am I'm going to sign his autograph now.

Prescott 00:24:58  But I kind of feel that way. I don't look like that. But it's been fun. And me and him are from the same area, north Louisiana. So when I go back home to visit, if I put in a food order, I just see, man, I don't know if you remember, but it was a commercial. It was a commercial back in the day. It was his old pudgy white guy and his name was Michael Jordan. And he would go all these places and people would think he was Michael Jordan.

Prescott 00:25:23  And and one time he was shown to the restaurant, and the guy's bringing out champagne and and and the guy guy's like, no, it's not him. So he took it off my back. Would think because I thought it was Michael Jordan. So I feel that way sometimes when I go first and I put food order and they come around and see, it's like, oh man, you're not Dak Prescott. I'm like, yeah. They go to two sharks right there until the sharks are back.

Eddie 00:25:47  I know it says 24 I don't know if they're coming out, but these were 90s boys. I remember these fight with my brother to, to get off my street sharks. But yeah, that's what our boy is looking like is,

Prescott 00:26:02  He's cut.

Eddie 00:26:03  Down. He's cut. Our weight was good. So I don't know if we're going to see it before the season or, before the the season starts, but I'm getting kind of nervous about Micah and this extension.

Prescott 00:26:24  I don't understand it. I just don't understand it.

Eddie 00:26:27  It's giving me dark vibes. Like what? What was going on with, like, why don't you just get it done? I know you guys are talking. What are you waiting for? What? What is going to happen that's going to say that's going to either move you in one direction than the other. Are you waiting to see what we have with the zero two? Are you waiting to see that? So is it going to say, you know, Micah, you you want you want to be the most the highest paid NFL player in the history of the NFL. But we got this bam. But we got this kid that mimic your. Is that your stats from 2025. Is that what they're going to do.

Prescott 00:27:04  This makes absolutely no sense. Like let's compare it like when when they were trying to pay Dak I could see the hesitation. Dak wasn't the best or top three quarterback in NFL, so I could see the hesitation with that. I had no problem with that. Well you were in this one.

Eddie 00:27:20  Didn't you just come off an MVP season.

Prescott 00:27:23  And I'm talking about the one I'm I'm talking about the one up before that when the contract is signed. Before that. This is a second contract he's just signed. So let's say this is the first contract. The first big contract he signed. He was in fact. Now it was more along the lines of, we think he can be this. Let's pay him and hope he gets there. So I can understand the reservation from day one. Parsons has been top five. Now he's in the conversation. Best, maybe second best friend. On on on how you feel about Myles Garrett or TJ. What he he's definitely in the top three. Like it's no question. If you put him outside the top three then you don't know football. But and he's getting better every single year. And now he has the the linebacker whisperer. He's he's done good every year. So he's definitely deserving of the contract. It's not one of those well he's like top ten.

Prescott 00:28:11  What he wants to be paid like it's it's it's not even that close. He has no injury history where he's like you know at least with Dak back missed almost a full season with the ankle. almost a full season with the hamstring. So he's missed seasons. Parsons is there all the time. He might get banged up, but he's there all the time, so it's like it's a no brainer. It's like. And on top of that, the the cherry on the top is this will save you a bunch of cap space by signing him. It's like a no brainer. It's I don't see the downside.

Eddie 00:28:44  We restructured guys. We we we've got money. I mean, what we haven't ready to spend. Why are we not spending it? What? What is going on? You're not saving it for your other entities. You're not doing this. This is all your ear. It's, What do they call that ear tag for? Yeah, for the cowboys, it's theirs. So what are we waiting for? I mean, but the only.

Eddie 00:29:08  Yeah, I'm guilty of this, too. You know, I, I have really, really bad vibes. I don't know if you if you know that feeling or not, but like, you know, with, you know, the, you know, buying stuff makes me feel good And when I'm buying it for other people. But when I buy it for myself, I actually. Yeah. And and I hate it. I don't like it. It makes me feel I don't like it, and I just I'm trying to return it, you know. But so is that how is that how it's feeling like, do we not want to spend I don't know what's going on.

Prescott 00:29:42  It doesn't make any sense because he's entering. He's entering his prime. It's not like he's 31 years old, demanding to be paid like the best player in the league. It's like. And we already have, like, even if, like, we, we have the money to sign him without having to do anything with anybody else.

Prescott 00:30:00  But and it's nobody who really, really is like, oh, if we don't sign this guy right now, we'll lose him. Like kind of like how he had with Dak last year. Like we had to do Dak and Lamb before passes. We had to like we didn't have a choice. That's why they did it. But right now the only major contracts we have is Tyler Smith. we have the kicker.

Eddie 00:30:21  Well.

Prescott 00:30:22  Brandon Aubrey. And then we have bland. Bland might be the only one who I would be hesitant and and do it because as good as he is, he doesn't play at an elite level all the time. He'll have some terrible, like, terrible games, like terrible games, but then he'll get an interception and erase all that out, you know?

Eddie 00:30:40  Yeah, but we didn't have any problem paying. He did the same fucking thing. He had terrible, terrible games. But then he had a lot of pictures. So we're like, oh my god.

Prescott 00:30:49  But like but the but the one I can understand.

Prescott 00:30:52  When you break down Diggs contract, on the surface it looks really, really good. Like when the the agent announces, oh, he signed Diggs to a five year, $90 million contract. When you dig down into the actual contract, they can get out of that contract this year. And only and only in essence pay him like 20 million bucks. So it's like they they had a lot of outs. So I think that's why they were good to sign it.

Eddie 00:31:16  Can you imagine this though? I mean, I know we don't I know we're getting short on time, but can you imagine us throwing a pick to Miami? Bringing Jalen Ramsey over. Now we have. And maybe we can move him to safety right.

Prescott 00:31:34  Oh man.

Eddie 00:31:36  But you have Jalen Ramsey. You got Diggs. You have bland Mr.. Mr.. Pick six you have probably the best quarterback in a couple of years from out of college. And I mean it's it's a it's a it would be a wealth of cornerbacks of DBS.

Prescott 00:31:55  Oh man.

Eddie 00:31:56  Please. And it's it's cool. We can do both.

Prescott 00:32:00  I can I can only get so erect. Please stop. Please stop talking about it like this is. Oh, man. But I think his contract was. This was holding him back. I think they still own, like, 20 million bucks on his contract. But, Yeah. Ramsey. I think that's what it is.

Eddie 00:32:16  I think they're going to eat a little bit of it and they'll. They'll release him. Somebody will pay him like 13, 15, 16 a year and it'll it'll happen, you know, unless they're unless he's playing the I'll go play for the Cowboys and then they all of a sudden they resign him to that's going to happen. You know that we're going to see that.

Prescott 00:32:37  He signed a three year extension worth $72 million last year.

Eddie 00:32:42  Last.

Prescott 00:32:42  Year, last year in 2024, in September. So the beginning of the the beginning of the season. Yeah. It guarantees him 55 million. Oh he's not holding out there.

Prescott 00:32:56  They they want to throw there okay.

Eddie 00:33:00  I thought they were holding.

Prescott 00:33:00  Out because because he makes too much money. They want him off the books. So and they they have a lot of like they have a lot of holes. They're, they're very top heavy. They did like what the, the, the, the Rams did and, and then it worked and they won a Super Bowl. So they want to avoid that. They want to be relevant, but they're. They're they're trying to get. Get them out of there. Only because he's good, but he's not. $72 million, three year extension. Good. So it's like if he was like if he was on the Dolphins right now making $10 million. They will they will have no problem keeping it. But.

Eddie 00:33:34  Oh yeah. Yeah. Well maybe we'll get him I think. I mean, it's a I know a lot of our insiders are kind of saying no, no, no, no, we're not going to do nothing, but I I'm still holding out.

Prescott 00:33:47  I think he has too much memorabilia. I think he has too much dead money.

Eddie 00:33:51  We're not being picky. Good or bad?

Prescott 00:33:54  Yeah, I don't remember that. But I think he has too much dead money for them to just outright release him. They're just going to have.

Eddie 00:34:00  This.

Prescott 00:34:00  Year and then release him.

Eddie 00:34:03  No no no. Russell Wilson it's like when they when he got went to Pittsburgh like Denver ate a shitload of that.

Prescott 00:34:09  They they did they ate a lot of money. But Sean Payton is the only quarterback I mean coach that can get away with that. I don't think McDaniels has that kind of.

Eddie 00:34:18  A rookie quarterback?

Prescott 00:34:20  Yeah.

Eddie 00:34:20  I mean, that's about it. I mean, the only other things are like, we got to announce that the NFC East is going to be on Hard Knocks, which is kind of.

Prescott 00:34:31  Exciting.

Eddie 00:34:31  For that to think about that. That'd be kind of cool. I'm in season one too, so, it'll it'll give us.

Prescott 00:34:39  Give us something. Yeah.

Prescott 00:34:41  Give us something to watch and, report every week, like, what's going on. And hopefully it'll give us some insight because, you know, a lot of people say stuff and they really don't know what the thought process like. I. One of my pet peeves is when somebody will see somebody throw like that, he'll throw a pick to somebody and you're like, oh, he sucks until you find out later on in the week. CeeDee lamb was like, oh yeah, I was supposed to run it out and I cut it short three yards. And so that's why I was picked when they were calling Dak Trash, when Dak threw it to where he was supposed to be when he ran the wrong route, things like that. And so I like to see those behind the scenes like like to me, the best thing that ever happened in in In Hard Knocks was when they did the Giants with the Saquon Barkley and how the guy was like, man, if we lose Saquon Barkley, I'm gonna be pissed.

Prescott 00:35:26  And he ends up losing him. He end up almost being the MVP and they win the Super Bowl. Like man that's crazy to see that conversation behind the scenes.

Eddie 00:35:34  It was good. It was it was good. Hard knocks has been one of my favorite shows since since the Jacksonville Jaguars. Except that that first year, that was such a cool season. I remember me and my buddy sitting on the couch going, I cannot believe we have. We get to see like what they do during like training camp and like inside and they're getting cut and we're like, oh my God.

Prescott 00:35:59  We get to you got to be a fan.

Eddie 00:36:01  Oh, oh that's crazy.

Prescott 00:36:02  Yeah, man. You gotta be a fan. The, the the last time we were on Hard Knocks, I watched it all. I was, I was eating it up. I, I loved it.

Eddie 00:36:12  I watch it, I mean I, I'm, I'm a sucker for those. I grew up when Steve Sabol was doing. You know, every year NFL films would do a 30 minute breakdown of every team.

Eddie 00:36:25  And I don't care what team I was watching at the end of it, I'm like, how come I don't like the New York Jets? That was fucking awesome, man.

Prescott 00:36:34  I used to love when I used to love when he did the.

Prescott 00:36:36  The green Bay.

Prescott 00:36:37  Packers.

Prescott 00:36:37  He'd come in the frozen tundra.

Eddie 00:36:43  the Raiders. Yeah. That was good. Good stuff.

Prescott 00:36:47  Yeah. Anyway. But. Yeah. So. But hey, that's how we got it.

Eddie 00:36:52  Shout out to, all the graduates that are graduating and especially to your son. Happy graduation.

Prescott 00:36:58  Man.

Eddie 00:36:59  I know you guys are family and everything. So excited, so excited. But congratulations.

Prescott 00:37:07  Man. I need to put a go fund. I need to put a GoFundMe on this page, man. I'm gonna need some. Both of my kids in college.

Eddie 00:37:14  We need we need to get some sponsors soon because our kids going to school. My my my little girl just turned to me. She she's a senior. She just texted me earlier today.

Eddie 00:37:25  She took her last school senior. I'm like, oh, hey.

Prescott 00:37:29  Yep. You always do it. I always used to say that as soon as the last day I left the last day of school. Oh, I'm whatever the next grade was.

Eddie 00:37:36  Yeah.

Prescott 00:37:38  That's exactly how it works. So just. And then before we go out of here, just give you a, I mean, a rundown of the schedule. So right now, June, mid June, it's mandatory OTAs. And the mini camp will be here in June and then July 15th. it's franchised players signed just like it, but we don't have any tag players, so we're good. So late July. Usually it's like the 20th or the between the 20th and the 25th is when our camp starts, depending on what day that is. So we gotta go after these, these OTAs and we'll have a little mini camp for like three days, and then it'll be the dog days until training camp. We have like six weeks. I mean.

Eddie 00:38:23  It's it's going to happen real quick too, because I remember we were talking about like, oh man, the Super Bowl just ended. We're like, God, it's going to be so long until the draft. The drafts are already gone. The draft happened OTAs, and before we know it, it's going to be in a preseason game. We're going to be like.

Prescott 00:38:39  I only hate it because now the the hot take artists are gonna have a field day doing those six weeks, trying to manufacture stories to stay relevant.

Eddie 00:38:50  That's why you gotta stay stay lukewarm. You gotta be on the back pocket.

Prescott 00:38:56  Sit on that burger, sit on that burger. Lukewarm. All right. Well, anyway, y'all be cool, Eddie, tell the people by what they need to do.

Eddie 00:39:05  And if you're, don't go to bed angry, you know that. Well, you know, I always say that and tell everybody that you love them, that you do love them because you might not get another chance. And, those stuff, interactions in Reddit, I'm loving it.

Eddie 00:39:23  I'm excited that when the president sends me the the link and I get to go in there and check it out, I'm always excited to see how many people are in there kind of listening.

Prescott 00:39:32  Yeah. Let me get a lot of predictions from the last four. From the last one. I'm still getting predictions. I got one today. Someone said we were going to be 7 to 9. So I was like, man, that's that guy. So yeah, but we still like.

Eddie 00:39:43  A lot of the explanations that they have. I mean, they're breaking down. Why?

Prescott 00:39:47  Yeah, I.

Eddie 00:39:48  Love people.

Prescott 00:39:49  Saying.

Eddie 00:39:49  Hey, oh, we we suck. We go five and 12 because we suck. Well, it's not that exactly. And they're actually really breaks.

Prescott 00:39:54  Exactly. I can get behind if somebody says we're going six and 11 and they break it down like, well, we I don't believe in these running backs. And that gets hurt. And look at this and look at this and I, I can be like, hey, I can see where you got that.

Prescott 00:40:10  I mean, you're wrong, but I can see how you got to that point.

Eddie 00:40:12  I mean, I understand why people call you tush puss, but go back to the evil side. You know what? We don't want nothing.

Prescott 00:40:20  Oh, man. Yeah, that's how it is, anyway. But we'll, put this out, come back next week. Hopefully. this is week three of us counting down the Parsons extension, so hopefully we'll we'll have some good news. Parsing extension for you. Well, maybe Ramsey will be on our team next week. Yeah.

Eddie 00:40:41  Something. Give us something to talk about.

Prescott 00:40:44  Yep. Yeah.

Eddie 00:40:48  It's the the new one my my daughter taught me. She told me to stay. Stevie. So that's Steve. So stay. Steve.

Prescott 00:40:56  Never heard in my life. That's something new. Yeah. All right, man. Y'all stay cool. We'll see you next weekend.

Eddie 00:41:04  Stay full of.

Prescott 00:41:04  I'll holla.
